REPORT: NYPD Officer Accused in 2014 Death of Eric Garner Fired by Police Department

posted by Hannity Staff - 8.19.19

The NYPD police officer involved in the 2014 death of Eric Garner has been fired, confirmed Commissioner James O’Neill Monday afternoon.

“Daniel Pantaleo, the New York City police officer accused in the 2014 death of Eric Garner that sparked nationwide outrage, has been fired, Commissioner James O’Neill announced Monday afternoon — spurring a furious response from the department’s police union, which blasted the decision as caving to ‘anti-police extremists,’” reports Fox News.

“None of us can take back our decisions,” O’Neill told reporters, “especially when they lead to the death of another human being.”

“I agree, he can no longer effectively serve as a New York City police officer,” O’Neill said.

Pantaleo was suspended earlier this month after a judge recommended his removal from the NYPD.

“He has chosen to cringe in fear of the anti-police extremists, rather than standing up for New Yorkers who want a functioning police department, with cops who are empowered to protect them and their families,” New York City Police Benevolent Association President Patrick J. Lynch said in a statement. “With this decision, Commissioner O’Neill has opened the door for politicians to dictate the outcome of every single NYPD disciplinary proceeding, without any regard for the facts of the case or police officers’ due process rights.”

BUSTED! Latest Suspect to Throw Water on Police Officers ARRESTED in New York City

posted by Hannity Staff - 8.01.19

The “tough guy” featured in a viral video spraying NYPD Officers with water was arrested in New York Thursday; with police bosses saying this type of behavior “will never be tolerated” in the Big Apple.

“The tough guy who confronted two NYPD traffic enforcement agents doing the job taxpayers want & expect them to do has been arrested. Brooklyn resident Steven Larosa, 35, is charged with Harassment and Obstructing Governmental Administration. Such behavior will never be tolerated,” posted Commissioner O’Neill on social media.

New York lawmakers introduced legislation this week that would make it a felony to douse Police Officers with water; a direct response after multiple videos went viral showing members of the NYPD attacked with buckets during the recent heatwave.

“This is disgraceful,” Assemblyman Mike LiPetri of Long Island said of the incidents. “The men and women in blue are people in our neighborhoods. Let us not forget that these officers took a sacred oath … We believe it is time that we return to a society that understands the fundamental belief in right versus wrong.”

President Trump weighed-in on the controversy last week, writing “We love our Law Enforcement Officers all around this great Country. What took place in NYC with water being tossed on NYPD officers was a total disgrace. It is time for @NYCMayor @BilldeBlasio to STAND UP for those who protect our lives and serve us all so well.”

Former NYC Mayor Rudy Giuliani blasted Bill de Blasio last Monday after footage emerged of local teens dousing NYPD officers with buckets of water; saying this “disrespect” for uniformed police never would have happened on his watch.

“This disrespect for the uniform in NYC is result of a Democrat-Progressive (Retrogressive)-Socialist Mayor. This is what happens with knee-jerk disrespect for police. It will only get worse until these Left wing idiots are defeated,” posted Giuliani on social media.

BUSTED: NYC Mayor Reportedly Used $3M NYPD 'Counter-Terror' Jet to Fly Home from Vacation

posted by Hannity Staff - 7.06.18

New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio found himself in hot water this week after he reportedly used a $3 million “counter-terrorism” government plane to fly home from a personal vacation in Canada.

According to the NY Post, de Blasio used the jet to fly from Quebec back to the Big Apple where he was set to deliver in address in the Bronx; returning to the Canadian province later that day.

“NYPD is transporting him in their plane,” de Blasio spokesman Eric Phillips told the Post.

“It is very unusual to go on an international flight to go pick up the mayor,” said an inside source close to the police department. “I think it’s excessive, because that wasn’t what that plane was designed to do. It’s designed for counterterrorism measures. To go to Canada to get the mayor? It’s excessive.”

“Neither the NYPD nor the Mayor’s Office would say who decided to use the plane, how much the trip cost taxpayers or why the mayor didn’t take a commercial flight — which is about $300 round-trip,” writes the Post.
