REPORT: DOJ Official Bruce Ohr Received $28,000 Bonus During Russia-Trump Collusion Probe

The Department of Justice official connected to the debunked ‘Trump Dossier’ reportedly received a $28,000 bonus during the final days of the Obama administration; raising new questions over his role in the escalating FISA abuse scandal.

Bruce Ohr, the Justice Department official whose connection to the opposition research firm responsible for the anti-Trump “dossier” led to his eventual demotion, was awarded a $28,000 performance bonus while the Russia probe was ongoing, according to newly released DOJ documents,” reports Fox News.

“The conservative group Judicial Watch, known for suing for public records, released the documents related to Ohr’s salary Friday, saying they obtained them from the Justice Department through a Freedom of Information Act request,” adds the report.

“These documents will raise questions as to whether the conflicted Bruce Ohr, who the FBI used to launder information from Christopher Steele was rewarded for his role in the illicit targeting of President Trump,” Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton said in a statement.

Months after Americans learned that senior DOJ employees Peter Strzok and Lisa Page exchanged anti-Trump text messages during and after the 2016 election, we’re now discovering that Bruce and Nellie Ohr “funneled” opposition research on Donald Trump using “Hi Honey” emails.

“A series of “Hi Honey” emails from Nellie Ohr to her high-ranking federal prosecutor-husband and his colleagues raise the prospect that Hillary Clinton-funded opposition research was being funneled into the Justice Department during the 2016 election through a back-door marital channel,” reports The Hill’s John Solomon.

“339 pages of emails, from her private account to Department of Justice (DOJ) email accounts, have been released under a Freedom of Information Act request by the conservative legal group Judicial Watch,” adds the article.

“They clearly show that Ohr sent reams of open-source intelligence to her husband, Associate Deputy Attorney General Bruce Ohr, and on some occasions to at least three DOJ prosecutors: Lisa Holtyn, Ivana Nizich and Joseph Wheatley,” Solomon concludes.
