Left-leaning magazine Vox published a sobering article Tuesday, estimating the new entitlement programs promoted by Democratic Socialists would likely cost the United States a staggering $218 TRILLION over the next 30 years.
As the Democratic Socialism of Bernie Sanders and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez continues to grow within the Democratic Party, even liberal pundits are beginning to question the true cost of the massive federal programs.
The article, titled “America might be ready for democratic socialism. It’s not ready for the bill,” details the stunning costs associated with universal healthcare, free college, and a guaranteed jobs program.
Fed spending would immediately hit 40% of GDP, on way to 50% by 2048.
Total govt spending at all levels would eventually approach 60% of GDP – exceeding all of Europe.

CATASTROPHIC COST: Bernie DEFENDS $32 TRILLION Healthcare Plan
Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders defended his “medicare for all” program Monday, blasting the university behind the financial report that claimed his universal coverage scheme would cost US tax payers $32 trillion over ten years.
A scathing report released by George Mason University found Sanders’ proposal would cost a stunning $32.6 trillion over the first decade; accounting for over 10% of the United States’ entire Gross Domestic Product.
“If every major country on earth can guarantee health care to all, and achieve better health outcomes, while spending substantially less per capita than we do, it is absurd for anyone to suggest that the United States cannot do the same,” Sanders said in a statement.
“This grossly misleading and biased report is the Koch brothers response to the growing support in our country for a ‘Medicare for all’ program,” Sanders added.

BERNIECARE? Sanders Doubles-Down on $32T HEALTHCARE, Slams ‘DYSFUNCTIONAL’ System
Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders doubled-down on his outspoken calls for a universal healthcare program in the United States Wednesday; saying Americans are sick of the current “dysfunctional” system.
The Democratic socialist vented his frustration with the US medical system on social media, claiming 6 in 10 Americans support a “Medicare for all” healthcare program.
“Americans are sick and tired of our wasteful, inefficient, dysfunctional health care system. They want Medicare for all,” wrote Sanders.
