Former Obama official and ex-Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel resurfaced this week; telling reporters Sen. Bernie Sanders’ entire campaign is “built on a false premise.”
“His candidacy is built on a false premise, strategically and policy-wise,” said Emanuel. “Bernie Sanders view is, I don’t want these moderate and fickle voters. We just have to turn out our base.”
“His view is, forget the center, we just want to be left. And that’s never been tried,” he added.
Sanders unveiled his plan for “free childcare” for every resident of the United States this week; confirming the proposal would cost upwards of $1.5 trillion over the next decade.
“Sanders and his campaign say the plan offers free, full-day child care for every child from infancy through age 3, and free pre-kindergarten education for every child in the country, starting at age 3. Much like his ‘Medicare for All’ pledge, Sanders’ idea features an eyebrow-raising price tag: $1.5 trillion spent during the next decade,” reports Politico.
“Childcare must be guaranteed for every child regardless of their parents’ income, just like K-12 education,” Sanders said in a statement. “We know that the first four years of a child’s life are the most important years of human development, so it is unconscionable that in the wealthiest country in the world, we do not properly invest in early childhood education.”
“As president, we will guarantee free, universal childcare and pre-kindergarten to every child in America to help level the playing field, create new and good jobs, and enable parents [to] more easily balance the demands of work and home,” Sanders said.

GANGLAND: Another 33 People SHOT LAST WEEKEND in Rahm's 'GUN FREE' Chicago
The epidemic of gun violence sweeping through Chicago continued last weekend, with city officials confirming at least 33 people were injured in multiple shootings throughout the nation’s third largest metropolis.
According to the Chicago Sun Times nearly three dozen individuals were hospitalized after another bloody weekend in the Windy City; nine people on Friday, 10 Saturday, 12 Sunday, and two as of Monday morning.
“On Sunday, a dispute at a block party ended with a woman shot in the Englewood neighborhood on the South Side. The 29-year-old had been arguing with someone in the 1300 block of West 73rd Street, police said. That person left the party and then returned about 3:25 a.m. to shoot the woman,” writes the Sun Times.
Mayor Rahm Emanuel is under fierce scrutiny from residents and local officials after his police department failed to make a single arrest just one week ago, when over 70 people were shot and a dozen killed throughout Chicago.

GANGLAND: Chicago Activists Demand RAHM EMANUEL’S RESIGNATION as Violence Swirls
Chicago’s anti-violence activists are calling for the resignation of Mayor Rahm Emanuel ahead of this week’s citywide demonstrations; saying the liberal leader isn’t doing enough to stem the spike in violence and murder.
According to Fox News, organizers behind Thursday’s march are urging Emanuel to step-down as gun crime and gang warfare run rampant throughout Chicago’s neighborhoods.
“The call of the people is ‘Resign Rahm,’” said one local reverend. “So how, then, can you back your own regime change? How do you sanction your own termination? How dumb, naive and self-hating do you think we are?”
“Honestly, when the mayor endorses a protest, it’s no longer a protest,” said another activist. “It becomes a parade, and we’re on serious business.”
The anti-violence demonstrations come as Chicago residents flee the city as murder rates, robberies, and assaults escalate throughout the region.
