A recent poll from Morning Consult released this week shows public support for the Democrats’ impeachment inquiry falling 4% since mid-October; new signs Pelosi’s push to remove Trump from office could be in serious trouble.
“The Morning Consult survey found that 47 percent of respondents now back impeachment. In mid-October, a record-high majority — 51 percent — supported it,” reports The Hill.
“Those opposed to impeachment held steady at 43 percent, where it has stood since House Democrats launched an impeachment inquiry over the president’s dealings with Ukraine in September,” adds the website.
House Democrats plan to take their probe public next Wednesday; scheduling a series of hearings that will likely be televised.
“The release of Taylor’s transcript came as Democrats launched a major new phase of their impeachment inquiry with public hearings scheduled for next week featuring State Department officials who have testified about their concerns about Trump’s dealings with Ukraine,” reports Yahoo News.
“House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff, who is leading the impeachment investigation, said the committee would hear from Taylor, career department official George Kent and former U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine Marie Yovanovitch in hearings next Wednesday and Friday,” adds the website.

Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi confirmed Monday that she will call a vote to “formalize” impeachment proceedings against President Trump on Thursday.
“The resolution — which ‘establishes the procedure for hearings,’ according to a statement by Speaker Nancy Pelosi — will mark the first floor vote on impeachment since Democrats formally launched their inquiry a month ago,” reports Politico.

“We are taking this step to eliminate any doubt as to whether the Trump Administration may withhold documents, prevent witness testimony, disregard duly authorized subpoenas, or continue obstructing the House of Representatives,” Pelosi said in a letter.
BREAKING: House Approves Formal Impeachment Inquiry Along Party Lines, Two Dems Side with GOP
Democratic members of the House of Representatives approved new legislation Thursday that formalizes their impeachment inquiry against President Trump; passing the resolution along party lines.
The final vote was 232-196. Two Democrats voted against the investigation.
“A yes vote on this resolution today gives a stamp of approval to a process that has been damaged beyond all repair and a blatant and obvious coup to unseat a sitting president of the United States,” Rep. Ross Spano, R-Fla., said.
“I do not take any pleasure in the need for this resolution,” Rep. Jim McGovern, D-Mass., said. “We are here because the facts compel us to be here.”
