PHILLY SPIRALS: Local DA Suggests Federal Agents Could Be Arrested if They Engage with Protesters

posted by Hannity Staff - 7.25.20

The Philadelphia’s District Attorney suggested federal agents could be arrested should they interfere with ongoing anti-police protests; saying their presence could be perceived as an “abuse of power.”

“District Attorney Larry Krasner accused President Trump of ‘acting like an authoritarian dictator,’ he said on an appearance on MSNBC’s “The ReidOut” Thursday and cautioned him not to send federal agents to his city,” reports Fox News.

“The stern words come as agents from the Department of Homeland Security, Customs and Border Protection, Federal Protective Service, and U.S. Marshals Service were deployed to Portland, Ore. and Washington, D.C., to quell pockets of violence stemming from otherwise peaceful demonstrations denouncing police brutality and racial inequality,” adds Fox.

“While the City of Philadelphia has not received any formal notification that federal agents will be sent here, we would use all available means to resist such an abuse of power,” the district attorney said in a tweet on Monday.

Protests there shut down major highways throughout the city back in early June following the killing of George Floyd in Minneapolis (picture above.)

DISGUSTING DISPLAY: Crowd Harasses, Taunts Philadelphia Police During 8-Hour Long Shootout

posted by Hannity Staff - 8.15.19

A handful of Philadelphia residents harassed and taunted police officers during a harrowing 8-hour long shootout Wednesday night; throwing objects at members of law enforcement as they struggled to end the stand-off.

“Onlookers were seen taunting and throwing things at Philadelphia police Wednesday night amid a wild shootout and subsequent standoff that saw six cops wounded, and video posted online shows one woman shoving a police officer making his way to the scene,” reports Fox News.

“I mentioned this at 10 and since I was harassed during that live shot, I’ll mention it here, too,” one local reporter said on Twitter. “A major moment of disappointment this evening was watching a crowd of people taunt police officers, laughing and yelling at them in the midst of the gunfire.”

“I should add — 98% of people here on scene were respectful and concerned. That moment was just such a startling thing to see in the middle of something so chaotic,” she added in a later tweet.

DISGUSTING DISPLAY: Group Plans Rally to SUPPORT Philadelphia Shooter that Injured 6 Police Officers

posted by Hannity Staff - 8.16.19

Organizers are planning a controversial protest this Friday to support the Philadelphia gunman who wounded six police officers during an eight-hour stand-off; saying members of law enforcement are an “occupying military force in the black community.”

“A controversial protest is planned Friday night in North Philadelphia to support Maurice Hill, the alleged gunman accused of shooting six Philadelphia police officers. Organizers say they expect 200 to 300 people to rally tonight,” reports CBS Philadelphia.

“Sadly, we do have to be there, I don’t understand it. There’s certain marches I do understand, this is definitely not one of them,” said Police Commissioner Richard Ross.

Hill has reportedly been arrested at least 12 times on gun and assault charges prior to the shootout, prompting many to question how the suspect was able to avoid prison.

“Many of you have found out about his history. It’s very significant. In fact, he told me on the phone, he used the word ‘extensive,’ he had an extensive criminal history and that he knew the system. This is why he was making the outlandish demands he was making,” added the Commissioner.

“The Philadelphia shooter should never have been allowed to be on the streets. He had a long and very dangerous criminal record. Looked like he was having a good time after his capture, and after wounding so many police. Long sentence – must get much tougher on street crime!” posted the President.
