Congressional Democrats revealed their border security proposal Thursday; allocating upwards of $22 billion for Border Patrol and other investments but providing no funding for the President’s promised border wall.
“Democrats are offering further details of their border security plan. They unveiled a measure Thursday that would not provide money for President Donald Trump’s U.S.-Mexico border wall and denying his request for additional border agents,” reports the Associated Press.
The plan provides over $22 billion for US Customs and Border Patrol, technological improvements at Ports of Entry, humanitarian aid for incoming migrants, and new drone aircraft.
The proposal totally fails to comply with the President’s demand that any budget agreement must include funding for his proposed border wall.
Congressional leaders must reach a bipartisan deal by February 15th to avert another potential government shutdown.

ARMAGEDDON AGAIN? Pelosi Warns Government Could be ‘CLOSED FOREVER’ Over Budget Fight
Likely Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi escalated her war-of-words with the Trump administration Thursday; saying the government could be “closed forever” because of her opposition to the President’s border wall.
Pelosi was speaking with reporters during her weekly press conference at the Capitol when she was asked if she planned to cave to the President’s security demands.
Pelosi predicts the government will stay "closed forever" because she is never going to fund the border wall.

“Let’s hope there won’t be a shutdown of the government. That’s a very bad thing to do, maybe the President doesn’t grasp that. That is very harmful to our country at significant cost,” said Pelosi.
“They still voted against opening up the government [the last time.] Does he want to have government closed forever? What’s this about? I know he doesn’t believe in government,” she added.
BORDER CRISIS: Federal Agents Detained 27,518 Migrants in December Alone
President Trump highlighted the escalating crisis occurring along the US-Mexico border during his prime-time speech Tuesday night, with new data showing federal agents detained 27,518 migrants in December alone.
“Border Patrol agents apprehended 27,518 members of family units in December, the highest monthly total on record. That figure has steadily been climbing now for five months,” writes USA Today.
“Those caravan members, most of whom have been trying to exercise their legal right to request asylum in the U.S., contributed to a third straight month of more than 60,000 migrants being detained at U.S. ports of entry and arrested in the vast stretches of border in between,” adds the article.
Leading Democrats Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer flat-out refused to acknowledge the national security issue along the southern border Tuesday; saying President Trump had “manufactured a crisis” and was “stoking fear” for political purposes.
