OPEN BORDERS: Elizabeth Warren Introduces New Plan to ‘Decriminalize’ Illegal Immigration

posted by Hannity Staff - 7.11.19

Sen. Elizabeth Warren introduced a new plan this week that would essentially “decriminalize” those caught illegally entering the United States; raising serious new questions over the Democrat’s immigration policy heading into the 2020 election.

“Entering the country without authorization has always been a violation of civil immigration law, but thanks to a former segregationist Senator, it’s also a criminal violation. This additional criminal provision is totally unnecessary for border security, and for a century, it was rarely enforced. But since the early 2000s, it has been used to build and sustain a massive immigration detention complex,” writes Warren in an op-ed published by Medium.

“In 2016, over half of all federal criminal prosecutions were for immigration violations — more than prosecutions for terrorism, organized crime, hate crimes, or financial fraud. This obsessive focus ties up federal prosecutors and overwhelms federal courts. It’s costly and unnecessary. And under Trump, it has become increasingly abusive,” she adds.

“We should repeal this criminal prohibition to prevent future abuse. As president, I will immediately issue guidance to end criminal prosecutions for simple administrative immigration violations; end Operation Streamline, which subjects migrants to mass prosecutions; and refocus our limited resources on actual criminals and real threats to the United States,” Warren concludes.

Warren toured an immigration detention center days ago; criticizing the Trump administration’s policy but failing to mention the complex was opened by the Obama White House in 2015/

“What is happening at Homestead to children, what is happening is a direct result of activities of the United States government. It’s wrong. It’s a stain on our country and we must speak out. We speak out as a people, we speak out as moral citizens, not just of the United States but of the world,” said Warren.

There’s just one problem for Elizabeth Warren. The Homestead Detention Center was opened by former President Barack Obama in 2015.

“The facility was first opened during the Obama administration, but immigration rights advocates say the Trump administration has stranded children there for longer periods by making it more difficult for them to be released to sponsors, usually parents or close relatives,” reports Reuters.

“The shelter opened under Barack Obama to hold children who were showing up to the U.S. border, mostly from Central American countries such as Honduras and El Salvador,” adds the Miami New Times.

BETO ABROAD: Failing Beto O’Rourke Speaks with Migrants in MEXICO, Meets with Refugees

posted by Hannity Staff - 7.01.19

Former Texas Representative and failing 2020 presidential hopeful Beto O’Rourke spoke with supporters in Mexico over the weekend; meeting with rejected asylum-seekers hoping to enter the United States.

“According to a pool report put out by the O’Rourke campaign, the candidate spoke to a group of asylum seekers in Spanish for about 15 minutes at a restaurant in Ciudad Juarez, across the Rio Grande from O’Rourke’s hometown of El Paso. The candidate then traveled to a shelter for migrants run by the Catholic Church, where he met around a table with migrants from El Salvador, Honduras, and Guatemala who told of being denied entry into the U.S. and returned to the Mexican border city while their asylum claims were being processed,” reports Fox News.

“Sunday’s visit represented a bid by O’Rourke to re-establish his credentials on the immigration issue after clashing with fellow Texan Julian Castro during Wednesday’s first presidential primary debate in Miami. Castro, a former Housing and Urban Development secretary and mayor of San Antonio, chided the ex-congressman for not being willing to fully decriminalize illegally crossing the U.S.-Mexico border,” adds Fox.

Left-wing presidential candidate Julian Castro apparently forgot the previous two-nights of Democratic debates; telling MSNBC that “nobody has called for open borders” and labeling the issue a “right-wing talking point.”

“Nobody has called for open borders. That’s just a right-wing talking point,” said Castro hours after the debate.

Nearly all Democratic presidential candidates supported the idea of “decriminalizing” illegal border crossings into the United States in recent days, as well as full healthcare coverage for the nation’s undocumented workers and their families.

“All of the candidates — including former Vice President Joe Biden, Sen. Kamala Harris and South Bend, Indiana, Mayor Pete Buttigieg — raised their hands when asked by an NBC moderator if they would support a health care plan that would cover undocumented immigrants,” reports the New York Post.

“All Democrats just raised their hands for giving millions of illegal aliens unlimited healthcare. How about taking care of American Citizens first!? That’s the end of that race!” posted the President on Twitter during his G-20 summit in Japan.

Elizabeth Warren made a similar pledge during the Democrats’ first debate; saying she supports banning private health insurance programs for all Americans.

“Who here would abolish private health insurance in favor of a government run plan?” asked MSNBC’s Lester Holt. “Just a show of hands.”

Warren was quick to support the massive entitlement program.

“I’m with Bernie on Medicare for All. Let me tell you why. I spent a big chunk of my life studying why families go broke. One of the number one reasons is the cost of healthcare… That leaves families with rising premiums and rising co-pays,” said Warren.

“Medicare for All solves that problem. I understand there are a lot of politicians who say it’s not possible… What they’re really telling you is they just don’t want to fight for it. Healthcare is a basic human right,” she added.

BIDEN REBUKED: AOC Says Biden Only Appeals to ‘That Dude in the Diner,’ Not a ‘Pragmatic Choice’

posted by Hannity Staff - 6.26.19

Controversial far-left Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez set her sights on former Vice President Joe Biden this week; saying the Democratic frontrunner isn’t a “pragmatic choice” because he only appeals to “that dude in the diner.”

“I think he’s not a pragmatic choice,” Ocasio-Cortez said in an interview published Wednesday.

“If you pick the perfect candidate like Joe Biden to win that guy in the diner, the cost will make you lose because you will depress turnout as well,” she said. “And that’s exactly what happened to 2016. We picked the logically fitting candidate, but that candidate did not inspire the turnout that we needed.”

Ocasio-Cortez slammed Biden’s appeal to that “dude in the diner,” asking, “Just so that you can get this very specific slice of Trump voters?”

Both progressive candidates Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren are hoping to garner AOC’s official endorsement in the months ahead.

The new Representative from New York City found herself in hot-water last week when she referred to immigration detention centers along the US-Mexico border as “Concentration Camps.”

“As long as the @GOPLeader supports jailing children and families on the border, I will continue to hold him to account for it. That’s why I’m calling on Rep. McCarthy to apologize for aiding and supporting the separation of children from their parents,” posted Ocasio-Cortez on social media.

Yad Vashem, the official Israel Holocaust Center in Jerusalem responded this week to Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’ recent comments; urging the far-left lawmaker to “learn” about concentration camps.

@AOC Concentration camps assured a slave labor supply to help in the Nazi war effort, even as the brutality of life inside the camps helped assure the ultimate goal of ‘extermination through labor.’ Learn about concentration camps,” posted Yad Vashem.
