OMAR CLAMS UP: Ilhan Freezes When Asked ‘Who Investigates Crimes? Who Arrests Criminals?!’

posted by Hannity Staff - 6.16.20

Rep. Ilhan Omar clammed-up during an interview on CNN over the weekend; refusing to answer “who arrests criminals” if you dismantle police departments across the United States.

“Who investigates crimes? Who arrests criminals? What happens?” asked CNN’s Jake Tapper.

“Yeah so… Minneapolis just voted on a resolution that will engage the community on a one year process on what happens as we go through the process… A new way forward can’t go forward if we have a department that’s led by a chief who’s suited for racism,” said Omar.

ILHAN OMAR: Minneapolis Police Department ‘Beyond Reform, It’s Time to Disband Them!’

posted by Hannity Staff - 6.08.20

Congresswoman Ilhan Omar stunned residents of Minneapolis Friday; saying the police department is “beyond reform” and most be “disbanded and reimagined for public safety.”

“The Minneapolis Police Department has proven themselves beyond reform. It’s time to disband them and reimagine public safety in Minneapolis,” posted Omar on social media.

Fired Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin’s charge will be upgraded to 2nd Degree Murder Wednesday, according to Fox News and other sources, adding the other 3 officers who were present during George Floyd’s death will also be charged.

“Chauvin will now be charged with second-degree murder, The Star Tribune first reported. The other three officers involved — Thomas Lane, J.A. Kueng and Tou Thao – will be charged with aiding and abetting second-degree murder,” reports Fox News.

“We expect all of the police officers to be arrested before we have the memorial here in Minneapolis tomorrow. Because we cannot have two justice systems in America – one for black America, one for white America. We must have equal justice for the United States of America,” said the attorney for the Floyd family.

OMAR UNLEASHED: ‘Minneapolis Police Department is Rotten to the Root! Must be Completely Dismantled!’

posted by Hannity Staff - 6.08.20

Congresswoman Ilhan Omar doubled-down on her commitment to completely dismantling the Minneapolis Police Department over the weekend; saying the agency is “rotten to the root”

“Not only do we need to disinvest, but we need to completely dismantle the Minneapolis Police Department,” said Omar. “The Minneapolis Police Department is rotten to the root. When we dismantle it, we get rid of that and we allow for something beautiful to arise!”

Lawmakers in Minneapolis pledged over the weekend to “dismantle the police department” following the death of George Floyd on Memorial Day.

“Nine members of the Minneapolis City Council announced their support for de-funding the Minneapolis Police Department and replacing it with a community-based public safety model at a rally in Powderhorn Park Sunday afternoon,” reports Fox Minneapolis.

“At the end of the rally, the councilmembers and some community activists committed to ending the Minneapolis Police Department through the budget process. The group also announced its intention to engage every willing community member to ask what safety means to them,” adds the website.

“It is clear that our system of policing is not keeping our communities safe,” said one member. “Our efforts at incremental reform have failed, period.”
