Florida Governor Ron DeSantis stopped by Hannity Monday night to share updates on the illegal migrant truck driver who caused a fatal crash in his state.
Harjinder Singh was operating a commercial semi-truck with a trailer on the Florida Turnpike in Fort Pierce when he allegedly attempted a U-turn in an unauthorized area. The trailer jackknifed and collided with a minivan, killing all three of its passengers, according to officials.
Singh has a hard time speaking English and cannot read road signs, according to reports.
Now there’s a petition urging Florida officials to show leniency toward Harjinder Singh; it has 2.5 million signatures.
DeSantis says Singh will be held accountable.
“He intentionally got behind the wheel of that big rig knowing that he did not understand what was going on around him,” DeSantis said. “He could not read adequately. The road signs, he couldn’t understand. And he attempted an absolutely insane maneuver on the road. So, he made those decisions. And those decisions resulted in the death of three people, and he will be held accountable.”
DeSantis blames not just Singh but also the company that hired him and California for giving him a license.
DeSantis goes after Florida Rep. Debbie Wasserman-Schultz, California Governor Gavin Newsom, and more.
