During a Tuesday morning call-in to Fox & Friends, President Trump confirmed that there is no way he’s putting American troops on the ground in Ukraine as part of the peace process between Russia and Ukraine.
Trump insisted Tuesday on Fox & Friends that there will be “no American boots on the ground” in Ukraine, telling viewers they have “my assurance.”
“I’m president, and I’m just trying to stop people from being killed,” he said.
Trump said the U.S. would back European efforts to secure Ukraine, suggesting that support would come largely from American air power.
“We’re willing to help them with things—especially, probably, by air, because nobody has the kind of stuff we have,” he said.
