Nancy Pelosi’s predictions of “death and destruction” continued to crash and burn Thursday, with new data showing the federal government collected the highest recorded level of individual income taxes in history this year.
According to CNS News, the national government filled its coffers with over $736 billion in tax revenue between October 2017 and March 2018; the highest haul on record.
“The approximately $736,274,000,000 in individual income taxes that the Treasury collected in October through March of this fiscal year was $24,473,780,000 more than the $711,800,220,000 (in constant March 2018 dollars) that the Treasury collected in the first six months of fiscal 2017,” writes CSN.
The massive tax revenue flies in the face of leading Democrats’ predictions of doom and gloom following the recently passed GOP tax cuts.
Just this week Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders demanded Congress “repeal” the tax legislation, saying it was an unnecessary burden on the “American middle class.”
