Musk Shares Infuriating Claim FEMA Sent $59M to House Illegal Migrants in NYC

A shocking discovery has left many Americans fuming as Elon Musk claimed that FEMA (Federal Emergency Management Agency) sent a whopping $59 million just last week to luxury hotels in New York City to house illegal migrants. The New York Post reports that Musk noted that the gross use of taxpayer dollars was found by the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), which is looking into fraud and abuse in government agencies. FEMA’s alleged aggravating action that Musk said was made just last week is dragging the highly scrutinized agency even further under a microscope as President Trump has already questioned its usefulness and legitimacy.

Musk took to X to share the disturbing news, writing: “The @DOGE team just discovered that FEMA sent $59M LAST WEEK to luxury hotels in New York City to house illegal migrants. Sending this money violated the law and is in gross insubordination to the President’s executive order.”

“That money is meant for American disaster relief,” he added, “and instead is being spent on high end hotels for illegals! A clawback demand will be made today to recoup those funds.”

FEMA has been frustrating Americans for a while now, especially on behalf of those in North Carolina who have been struggling to get shelter and essentials in the wake of devastating Hurricane Helene that struck the area in late September. President Trump went to North Carolina within his first week in office to meet with some of the individuals whose lives have been upended by the hurricane to hear their testimonies of how they have been ignored and left to suffer because of FEMA’s gross incompetence, or as it appears now, different priorities. Upon learning that Americans were still left homeless after suffering a natural disaster, President Trump vowed to overhaul the agency, if not shutter it completely.

The people of North Carolina have been depending on their fellow citizens for help including those from Samaritan’s Purse and Operation Helo as they navigate how to recover from the disaster.

Last month, President Trump ordered the creation of a council specifically to look into FEMA as he suspected that there are “serious concerns of political bias” in the agency, The Post reports. The council is to be created within the first 90 days of the administration and Trump expects a report on his desk within 180 days from the council’s first meeting.

According to the New York Post, Trump “also accused the agency — which is responsible for bringing in emergency services, supplies and aid to disaster-struck areas — of bungling emergency relief efforts, adding that US states should be given federal handouts directly in the wake of disasters. Over the past couple of years, funding for the agency has soared following several high-profile weather-related disasters around the country.”

A deep look into the misuse of government funds has been a major priority for the Trump administration. Despite extreme pushback from those who do not wish to see the corruption cleaned up for the sake of spending American taxpayer dollars appropriately, the Trump administration is moving forward with a clear focus on digging up the fraud and abuse that far too many have gotten away with for far too long.
