The son of a fallen Texas police officer got a huge show of support on his first day of school, when more than 50 local law enforcement officers lined up to greet him and wish him good luck.
Seventh grader Joaquin Espericueta lost his father, Cpl. Jose “Speedy” Espericueta Jr. of Mission, Texas, just a few months ago when he responded to a fellow officer’s call for assistance; Cpl. Espericueta was shot at the scene.
“Police and sheriff’s department employees wanted to make the first day of school for one of Espericueta’s two children special. Law enforcement from the Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office, Texas Department of Public Safety, Mission police, Edinburg police, and McAllen police all showed up early Monday to greet Joaquin on his first day,” reports the Washington Examiner.
The Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office captured the show of support on social media.

LISTEN NOW: Touching 9/11 Tribute ‘There She Stands’ and Ilhan Omar’s Shameful Rhetoric on Al Qaeda
Embattled Congresswoman Ilhan Omar was thrust into the national spotlight earlier this week after President Trump told “radical Democrats” they can leave the United States if they don’t “love our country.”
The President was referring to Omar’s vicious rhetoric on the 9/11 terror attacks, al Qaeda, Israel, and more.
“CAIR was founded after 9/11 because they recognize that some people did something,” said Omar.
“Every time the professor said al Qaeda, his shoulders went up… Al Qaeda, you know. You don’t say America with an intensity, you don’t say England with an intensity, you don’t say an army with an intensity,” she told an interviewer.
“If you ask anybody walking on the side of the streets somewhere in the middle of the world, they will tell you America the great, but we don’t live those values here. That hypocrisy is something I’m bothered by,” said Omar on another occasion.
“Nobody wants to face how the actions of the other people that are involved in the world have contributed to the rise of radicalization, the rise of terrorist acts,” Omar told reporters.
