Kamala Harris has finally posted some policy positions on an “Issues” page on her website — but they’re a joke.
The intro, like Harris herself, uses a ton of words to say next to nothing: She plans on “building up the middle class,” creating an “Opportunity Economy where everyone has a chance to compete and a chance to succeed” and “bringing together organized labor and workers, small business owners, entrepreneurs, and American companies to create good paying jobs.”
In the next update, she’ll surely come out in favor of apple pie, cute kittens and adorable puppies.
And when she isn’t spewing platitudes, she’s doubling-down with more pablum and outright bad ideas.
To bring down the record-high costs on basic goods pummeling American families, she’ll “crack down on anti-competitive practices that let big corporations jack up prices,” and push through “a federal ban on corporate price gouging on food and groceries.”
That is, she’s still pretending away the actual trigger of recent sky-high inflation (the reckless Harris-Biden post-COVID spending) by blaming corporations for (mysteriously) getting extra-greedy once the Democrats took over.
And she’s still offering the same old vote-buying (inflation-goosing!) freebies.
Harris wants to “continue working to end the unreasonable burden of student loan debt” (meaning more illegal taxpayer bailouts) and repeats her pledges to give first-time homebuyers “up to $25,000” and give “a $6,000 tax cut to families with newborn children,” all while somehow “ensuring no one earning less than $400,000 a year will pay more in taxes.”
If that math seems dubious, it’s because Harris’ supposed plan for paying for all of these is the ever-popular “tax the rich.”
Her plan to “strengthen Social Security and Medicare” is, laughably, to make “millionaires and billionaires pay their fair share in taxes,” when the top 1% of earners already fork over 45.8% of Uncle Sam’s income-tax take.
And she vows to “lower energy costs” by . . . sticking to the Biden “climate action” agenda — which in reality has increased them.
More bold stands: Harris says she’s for “safety and justice for all” and believes that “no one is above the law,” her past support for defunding the police and bailing out race-rioters, be damned.
And of course her big border plans involve the bill that would’ve liberalized asylum laws, plus creating “an earned pathway to citizenship” that magically wouldn’t attract more illegal migrants.
Guess she’ll tell us after the election where she’ll get all the pixie dust to make these dreams come true.
