Senator Josh Hawley is now calling for an ethics investigation into seven Democratic lawmakers who filed a complaint against the Republican following the January 6th incursion against the United States Capitol.
“Hawley aired his grievances in two letters sent Monday morning. In one of the letters, Hawley, R-Mo., called for the Senate Ethics Committee to investigate the six Democrats who filed the complaint against him and Cruz, R-Texas, accusing the senators of filing ‘an unprecedently frivolous and improper ethics complaint… [w]ithout citing any relevant evidence or offering any good-faith argument,’” reports Fox News.
“The complaint against me does not suggest that my objection to Pennsylvania’s electoral votes was legally improper. No Senator could make such a suggestion with a straight face. Federal law expressly authorizes Senators to object that a State’s electoral votes were not ‘regularly given,'” Hawley says in his letter to the Ethics Committee. “Democrats have repeatedly invoked this provision. Indeed, in every presidential election since 2000 that a Republican has won, Democrats have sought to object to electoral votes on that ground, regardless of whether any good-faith basis existed for such objections.”
“While it was within Senators’ rights to object to the electors, the conduct of Senators Cruz and Hawley… went beyond that. Both senators announced their intention to object to the electors after baseless claims of election fraud, which upon information and belief they knew to be baseless, had led to threats of violence,” the Democrats’ letter said. “Their actions lend credence to the insurrectionists’ cause and set the stage for future violence. And both senators used their objections for political fundraising.”

HAWLEY ON HANNITY: It's Time for the Senate to Fight Back Against Pelosi's Impeachment Delay
Sen. Josh Hawley spoke with Sean Hannity Monday night on the Democrats’ non-stop impeachment fantasy; saying it’s time to start the Senate trial without Nancy Pelosi’s Articles of Impeachment.
“The House Speaker is trying to run the United States Senate, she’s trying to obstruct a trial. The Constitution is clear… It’s time for the Senate to fight back,” said Hawley.
“We heard all about how urgent this was, about a national security threat, now all of a sudden there’s no emergency at all… They never accepted his election, they never wanted him in office,” he added.
Republican Senators introduced new legislation Monday that would alter procedural rules and allow lawmakers to vote on Impeachment without the formal Articles; setting the stage for a potential legal showdown with Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi.
“The Constitution gives the Senate sole power to adjudicate articles of impeachment, not the House. If Speaker Pelosi is afraid to try her case, the articles should be dismissed for failure to prosecute and Congress should get back to doing the people’s business,” Sen. Josh Hawley said in a statement.

“Speaker Pelosi and House Democrats have made a mockery of our Constitution and abused impeachment for political gain. Now, they’re undermining the role of the Senate by attempting to dictate the terms of the Senate’s trial,” added Sen. Ted Cruz in a statement.
The new regulations would give the House 25 days to transmit the Articles of Impeachment to the Senate. After that period -should Congressional legislators fail to send the documents- Senators would vote to dismiss the Impeachment with a simple majority vote.

HAWLEY ON HANNITY: World Needs International Investigation into Chinese Coronavirus Cover-Up
Sen. Josh Hawley stopped by ‘Hannity’ Tuesday night to discuss China’s response to the global Coronavirus pandemic; saying the Communist regime must be held accountable for their lies and deception.
“Here’s what we need: We need an international investigation that holds the Chinese government to account. They’ve got a propaganda machine out there saying that they bought the world time. They’re also saying that maybe US soldiers were the first carriers of the virus. That’s garbage,” said Hawley.
“The Chinese government lied about it. They jailed the doctors, they cost the world thousands of lives and billions of dollars,” he added. “We offered to send teams of medical assistance, and China said no.”
