During Tuesday’s taping of The View, legendary ESPN host and bestselling author Stephen A. Smith challenged co-host Joy Behar on whether or not the 2024 election was a mandate.

“[Trump’s] been going around with his cronies touting his so-called landslide and blowout win, but he won the popular vote by 1.5%, one of the smallest ever. And he won the general election by less than 50%. So what kind of mandate is this, really?” Behar asked Stephen A.

“Well, it is a mandate, and I’m going to explain why,” Stephen A. said. “Here are the facts: the man won every swing state. He increased in terms of his voter turnout from the standpoint of Blacks, Latinos, and young voters — he increased his numbers in that regard from 2020.”

Stephen A. continued: “89% of the counties shifted to the right — that’s a mandate.”

Fox News contributor and Outkick founder Clay Travis shared the clip on X, saying “Stephen A. Smith just put Joy Behar in a body bag on her own show.”

Conservative podcast host Dave Rubin said, “So much [fire] here by Stephen A. Smith that Whoopi’s hair could have lit up and gotten everyone stoned.”

Silverloch Media said, “That was not the answer she was fishing for.”

Popular conservative news account End Wokeness said, “Stephen A. Smith drops truth bombs on The View after they say Trump doesn’t have any mandate.”
