Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders leads the pack of Democratic hopefuls vying to take on President Trump in 2020; taking the top spot in a series of polls on the day of the Iowa Caucus.
According to Real Clear Politics average of surveys from the state, Sanders is leading with 24% of the vote; followed by Joe Biden at 20%, Pete Buttigieg at 16%, and Elizabeth Warren at 15%.
“Bernie Sanders’ momentum is shaping the final hours of the race to win tonight’s Iowa caucuses, forcing his rivals to lower expectations and feeding the Democratic establishment’s fears about what a Sanders victory could do to the party,” reports Axios.
“We view Iowa as the beginning, not the end,” Biden adviser Symone Sanders said Sunday.

Project Veritas released another explosive undercover exposé of Bernie Sanders’ 2020 campaign last week; showing two more field organizers calling for “violence against property” and dismissing the horrors of the Soviet Union’s brutal gulag prison system.
“A Lot of Those People Who Do That Kind of Work, are…Their Politics Fall Well Outside of the American Sort of Norm. So, They’re Marxist-Leninists, They’re Anarchists, They’re These Types of Folks, and um, and They Have More of a Mind for Direct Action, for Engaging in Politics Outside of the Electoral System,” said one field organizer.
“A Lot of the Stories We’re Told in the United States About, You Know, the Gulags and the Persecution of the Kulaks and Things Like That are Exaggerated…We Certainly Don’t Have, uh, a Straight Perspective on That Stuff Here in America,” he added.
“In a new video released today by Project Veritas Action Fund (PVA), two South Carolina Field Organizers for the Sanders Campaign, Mason Baird and Daniel Taylor, are secretly recorded admitting that the Sanders campaign attracts ‘truly radical people.’ They are also recorded brushing off the human rights atrocities committed by the Soviet Union and planning violence as a back-up plan depending on the outcome of Sanders’ election effort,” writes Project Veritas.

“Four years ago, I came here to Iowa and I was asked, ‘What’s the major national security issue we face? ISIS or al Qaeda?’ The answer that I gave in terms of national security is climate change,” Sanders told the crowd.
Sanders continued his calls for free college and universities across the USA this week; admitting the proposal may “cost a little bit of money” but ultimately asking, “So what?”

“One of the things that we’ve got to just keep doing is thinking big and not small… There’s no reason why we don’t make these colleges and universities tuition-free. Costs a little bit of money, but so what?” Sanders told a crowd of supporters.
Sanders published a list of “rights” all Americans are entitled to “regardless of income” over the weekend; demanding “decent jobs,” free healthcare, and affordable housing for everyone living in the United States.
“Every American, regardless of income, is entitled to:
The right to a decent job that pays a living wage.
The right to quality health care.
The right to a complete education.
The right to affordable housing.
The right to a clean environment.
The right to a secure retirement,” posted Sanders on social media.

Sanders is now tied with former Vice President Joe Biden in the latest national polls; setting the stage for a high-stakes showdown between the two top Democrats ahead of the Iowa Caucus.
“The online poll, released Thursday, shows that 20% of registered Democrats and independents said they would back Sanders over 11 other candidates to run in the general election against President Donald Trump, an increase of 2 percentage points from a similar poll that ran last week,” reports Reuters. “Another 19% supported Biden, 12% said they would vote for Senator Elizabeth Warren, 9% backed former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg and 6% said they would support Pete Buttigieg, the former mayor of South Bend, Indiana.”
“The poll also shows that about one in five potential primary voters remain undecided. And among those who have picked, nearly two out of three say they are open to changing their minds,” adds the website. “Sanders, an independent who built a national network of fervent supporters while running for the party’s nomination in 2016, has consistently ranked among the most popular candidates since he entered the race.”
