ICE Launches Recruitment Campaign: ‘Your country is calling upon you to serve’

The Trump administration has launched a significant recruitment campaign to bolster U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) ranks, backed by new funding from the “One Big Beautiful Bill,” Fox News reports. This funding enables ICE to hire 10,000 new agents and offer substantial financial incentives.

According to Fox News, “the agency is touting $50,000 signing bonuses, student loan relief, law enforcement availability pay of 25% for Homeland Security Investigations Special Agents, ‘administratively uncontrollable overtime’ for ICE deportation officers, and retirement benefits. Applicants must be at least 21 years old, with varying age maximums for certain positions.”

The website highlights three main roles: deportation officer, criminal investigator, and general attorney, but the federal government’s job site it links to features a wider range of job listings.

ICE’s recruitment messaging appeals to citizens to serve their country and defend the homeland, highlighting “unprecedented challenges” stemming from mass illegal immigration under the previous administration. The campaign features posters with imagery of President Trump, ICE leadership, and slogans like “America Needs You,” “Defend the Homeland,” and “Your country is calling upon you to serve.”

This recruitment push coincides with ICE’s ramped-up enforcement and deportation efforts as part of a broader immigration crackdown. The agency is actively enforcing policies focused on criminal illegal aliens and those unlawfully entering the United States. According to DHS data, there has been a significant increase in assaults on ICE officers, likely prompting one of the most frequently asked questions which pertains to the safety of the officers.

According to Fox News, “On the recruitment web page, the agency has ‘How dangerous is the work?’ listed as a frequently asked question,” to which the website states, “ICE law enforcement officers should expect a certain level of risk when performing their duties; however, they are expertly trained and every precaution is taken by ICE when it comes to protecting its officers’ well-being.”

This effort supports the administration’s goal of intensifying deportation actions and border enforcement following years of wide open borders that allowed a wave of criminal illegal immigrants to enter the country.

Noem praised the move and reassured applicants that they have the Trump administration’s support stating, “The Biden Administration let in the WORST OF THE WORST from around the world. Thanks to President Trump, ICE is now empowered to go-after these heinous individuals—arrest them and deport them. My message to law enforcement is this: We will never abandon you and we are doing everything we can to keep you safe.”
