Florida’s Secretary of State took an unprecedented move Thursday night to solve the midterm election mayhem; demanding a full state-wide “hand recount” for the first time in Florida’s history.
According to the Tampa Bay Times, Secretary of State Ken Detzner ordered the manual recount after a five-day machine recount of over 8 million votes was plagued with mechanical failures, “irregularities,” and claims of fraud.
“Following a five-day machine recount of the more than 8.3 million votes cast in the Nov. 6 elections, Secretary of State Ken Detzner ordered hand recounts Thursday afternoon in the race between U.S. Sen Bill Nelson and Gov. Rick Scott, and also the race for agriculture commissioner between Nicole ‘Nikki’ Fried and Matt Caldwell,” writes the Times.
Florida law demands that all races that fall within half of one percentage point be recounted.
The Sunshine State’s 67 counties now have three additional days to manually recount every vote; enlisting thousands of volunteers to handle the load and reach the new deadline.

RECOUNT REJECTS: Broward County Misses Recount Deadline… By TWO MINUTES
Broward County election officials missed Thursday’s 3pm deadline by just two minutes this week; effectively nullifying the extended vote and prompting state officials to use the original tally from Election Day.
“The top election official in Florida’s heavily Democratic Broward County said late Thursday that the county had uploaded the results of its recount two minutes after the state’s 3 p.m. deadline – making its machine recount tally void. Instead, the county’s results from last Tuesday’s election will stand until manual recount totals in the state’s closely contested Senate race come in Sunday at noon,” writes Fox News.
News of the botched deadline comes just hours after Election Supervisor Brenda Snipes bragged of never missing a deadline.
“We are excited to be at this point,” she claimed Thursday afternoon. “An election like the one we just finished almost has so many moving parts and so many components.”
“Basically, I just worked my a** off for nothing,” said one official.

DEMOCRAT DO-OVER? Liberal Senator Urges Activists to ‘Get Down to Florida’ if There’s No Recount
Democrat Senator Chris Murphy urged liberal activists across the country to “adjust their schedules” and “get down to Florida” if Republicans “stop all ballots from being counted.”
Murphy posted his comments on social media after state officials weighed a manual recount after Republican Rick Scott held a slight lead over Democrat Bill Nelson.
“Republicans will try to use the courts to shut down a full recount. Just get ready for this – adjust your schedules bc we may all have to get down to Florida if they try to to use the courts to stop all ballots from being counted,” tweeted the left-wing lawmaker.

The move echoes similar comments from Democratic gubernatorial candidate Andrew Gillum, who demanded that “every vote” be counted and urged supporters to contact their local County Supervisors.
