Israeli officials deployed their defense forces and opened bomb shelters along the state’s northern border Tuesday after detecting “unusual” moves by the Iranian military operating inside Syria.
According to Reuters, the Israeli Defense Forces “increased its readiness” in a direct response to the “movements of Iranian forces inside Syria.”
“Following the identification of irregular activity of Iranian forces in Syria, the IDF has decided to change the civilian protection instructions in the Golan Heights and instructs local authorities to unlock and ready shelters in the area,” the Israel Defense Forces said in an official alert.
The military maneuvers come just minutes after President Trump announced his decision to withdraw the United States from the Iranian nuclear agreement.
“I am announcing today that the United States will withdraw from the Iran nuclear deal,” said the President. “Powerful sanctions will go into full effect…If the regime continues its nuclear aspirations, it will have bigger problems than it has ever had before.”
BIBI’S BOMBSHELL: Israeli PM ‘HAS EVIDENCE’ Iran Violating Nuclear Deal
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu revealed “dramatic” evidence Monday that the Iranian regime has been “lying” about its advanced nuclear weapons program; claiming the Islamic Republic was “hiding material” following the Obama-era agreement.
Netanyahu confirmed the revelation in a fiery press conference, adding that his government has received stunning new information in the previous “10 days” that the Iranian regime had relocated “half a ton” of covert files to a “secret location.”
“These files conclusively prove that Iran is brazenly lying when it says it never had a nuclear weapons program,” he said.
According to Fox News, Netanyahu briefed both President Trump and Secretary of State Mike Pompeo over the weekend.
The new report raises serious questions over the future of the Iranian nuclear agreement, with President Trump expected to make his final decision over the international pact in the coming weeks.
IRAN ON EDGE: Macron, Trump Demand NEW DEAL on Iran’s Nukes
French President Emmanuel Macron and President Donald Trump called for a “new deal” on Iran’s nuclear weapons program Tuesday; sending a clear message to Tehran that France and the United States are serious in forging a new agreement with the Islamic Republic.
The two leaders spoke with reporters following a joint press conference at the White House, with Macron confirming that his government is willing to renegotiate the nuclear agreement alongside the Trump administration.
“I can say that we have had very frank discussions on that, just the two of us,” said Macron. “We, therefore, wish from now on to work on a new deal with Iran.”
“I think we will have a great shot at doing a much bigger, maybe, deal,” said Trump.
The remarks come just one day after Iran’s foreign minister claimed there was no “Plan B” should the United States decide to withdraw from the agreement.
