During Tuesday’s White House press briefing, Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre was asked what the Biden Administration knew about the ceasefire claims made by Hamas prior to Israel’s Rafah offensive.
“Can you say declaratively that no one in the Biden Administration knew about the latest hostage and ceasefire deal that Egypt and Qatar negotiated with Hamas before Hamas said that they accepted it yesterday,” one reporter asked KJP.
“Here’s what I can say: this is an extremely difficult process; it just is,” KJP said as she started to spin.
“We all recognize that these are difficult times,” the reporter fired back, while reiterating the question.
The exchange only gets more tense from there.
