Biden’s plans remain unchanged in the wake of #GarageGate.
According to a report from Just The News, President Joe Biden is expected to announce his 2024 re-election bid shortly after the State of the Union address; he will be 82 years old at the time of the next election.
From Just The News:
The Democratic president “was planning to launch a campaign sometime in the period after his February 7 State of the Union address” prior to that scandal, CNN reported on Thursday, and the plan remains the same in spite of that controversy.
The timeframe for the announcement “is the same,” sources told the news network.
Biden has long been expected to announce a re-election bid, even as he has seemed to struggle under the weight of the presidency while holding the title of oldest man ever elected to the office.
Biden was 78 when he took office, a full eight years older than President Trump was when in 2016 he became at the time the oldest man elected president in his own right.
Biden’s announcement will potentially put him in a White House rematch with former President Donald Trump.
