This week, Golden State Gov. Gavin Newsom announced plans to levy a maximum tax on anyone who receives money via Trump’s $1.8 billion “anti-weaponization” fund.
Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent was asked about Newsom’s plan during Thursday’s White House press briefing.
“There’s no cure for stupid,” Bessent said of Newsom.
