GOP LEADERS CELEBRATE: 'Every Unborn Child is Precious, Extraordinary, and Worthy of Protection'

Prominent GOP voices are celebrating the overturning of Roe v. Wade, sharing official statements and thoughts on social media. Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell called the decision “courageous and correct.”

“The Supreme Court’s landmark ruling in Dobbs is courageous and correct. This is an historic victory for the Constitution and for the most vulnerable in our society,” McConnell writes.

“For 50 years, states have been unable to enact even modest protections for unborn children. More than 90% of Europe restricts abortion on demand after 15 weeks, but every state in America has been forced to allow it more than a month past that, after a baby can feel pain, yawn, stretch, and suck his or her thumb. Judicial activists declared that every state had to handle abortion like China and North Korea and no state could handle it like France or Germany.”

“Not anymore. Now the American people get their voice back.”

House GOP Conference Chair Elise Stefanik (R-NY) said “Every Unborn Child is Precious, Extraordinary, and Worthy of Protection.”

Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) tweeted “LIFE WINS! Glory to God”

House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy said, “Today’s Supreme Court decision in Dobbs is the most important pro-life ruling in American history…The right to life has been vindicated. The voiceless will finally have a voice. This great nation can now live up to its core principle that all are created equal…”

Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) said this decision was “49 years in the making.”
