Some members of the Democratic Party are discussing a potential “leadership” change in the aftermath of the 2020 election; suggesting some long-time officials could see themselves stripped of positions in the weeks ahead.
“House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is facing a Democratic reckoning as voters and politicians alike conduct a postmortem on what caused Democrats to shrink their majority in the House of Representatives,” reports The New York Post.
“The two Democrats told The Hill on Wednesday that they were reaching out to their colleagues about backing one of Pelosi’s top lieutenants, Democratic Caucus Chairman Hakeem Jeffries (D-N.Y.), for Speaker,” adds The Hill.
“He’s the only one prepared and positioned” to be Speaker, claimed one of the Democratic legislators. “He bridges moderates and progressives better than anyone. And most importantly, he’s not Nancy Pelosi.”

Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders suspended his presidential campaign Wednesday; clearing the path for the Democratic nomination of former Vice President Joe Biden to take on Donald Trump this November.
“Sanders was unable to build on his early momentum in the race after wins in New Hampshire and Nevada as well as virtual tie in Iowa, going on to lose a string of states to Biden after the former vice president consolidated the support of moderate Democrats,” reports the Hill.
