Former Starbucks CEO and potential 2020 presidential candidate Howard Schultz slammed the Democratic Party Tuesday; saying the US simply “can’t afford” to implement “Medicare for All” and “free college” across the country.
Schultz was speaking with the hosts of The View when he said it would be “disingenuous” for him to run as a Democrat because he would need to embrace massive federal entitlement programs.
"In order to run as a Democrat today, you have to fall in line with free Medicare for everybody—free—free college for everybody, a free job for everybody,"@HowardSchultz tells us why he would run as an Independent in 2020. “I would have to be disingenuous if I ran as a Democrat because in order to run as a Democrat today you have to fall in-line with free Medicare for everybody, free college for everybody, and a free job for everybody,” said Schultz.
“That totals about $40 trillion… We can’t afford to do it ‘free,'” he added.
COFFEE CHAOS: President Trump Says Former Starbucks CEO ‘Doesn’t Have the Guts’ to Run in 2020
President Trump unloaded on former Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz Monday morning; saying the left-wing business executive doesn’t have the “guts” to run for the White House in 2020.
“Howard Schultz doesn’t have the ‘guts’ to run for President! Watched him on @60Minutes last night and I agree with him that he is not the ‘smartest person.’ Besides, America already has that! I only hope that Starbucks is still paying me their rent in Trump Tower!” tweeted the Commander-in-Chief.

Trump’s comments come hours after the Starbucks CEO told reporters he was actively considering a third-party run for the White House; saying “both parties are consistently not doing what’s necessary on behalf of the American people.”
STARBUCKS STRIKES: CEO Schultz Blames Trump for ‘Racial Divide'
Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz slammed President Trump Tuesday just hours before he closed 8,000 stores for anti-bias training, accusing the Commander-in-Chief of stoking the “racial divide” in the United States.
Schultz was speaking with CNN when he unloaded on the President, saying “his behavior” has effectively “given license” to those seeking to ratchet up racial conflict between “people of color and Caucasians in America.”
“[Trump’s behavior] has contributed to the problem,” Schultz said on CNN. “I would say on a personal level, [Trump’s rhetoric] probably has given license to people to feel as if they can emulate and copy the kind of behavior and language that comes out of this administration.”
“The racial divide and the inequities that exist between people of color and Caucasians in America is a problem that has existed for quite some time,” Schultz added. “And I think we have to ask ourselves a very important question and that is: What kind of country do we want to live in? And from my perspective we want to live in a country in which we love and respect every American.”
The Starbucks CEO’s comments come just hours after he offered racial sensitivity training to nearly 175,000 employees; a direct response to a store manager’s decision weeks ago to call the police on two African American men who were waiting to use the restroom.
