Game Over: Fans Stunned by Empty Stadium Seats as NFL Season Enters Week 5

posted by Hannity Staff - 10.07.19

Sports fans were shocked over the weekend as NFL stadiums across the country were filled with vacant seats; a troubling indicator for the beleaguered league as Americans flee in droves following years of protests against the national anthem.

“Not many people here at Paul Brown Stadium to see this clash of NFL teams,” posted one reporter for ESPN.

Former NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick doubled-down on his US anthem protest earlier this year; telling athletes who plan on kneeling during the ‘Star-Spangled Banner’ to “stay strong” during the upcoming 2019 season.

“My Brothers @E_Reid35 @KSTiLLS @iThinkIsee12 continue to fight for the people, even in the face of death threats. They have never moved past the people and continue to put their beliefs into action. Stay strong Brothers!!!” posted Kaepernick on social media.

KAEPERNICK UNLEASHED: The Quarterback SLAMS Police for ‘Lawful Lynching’

posted by Hannity Staff - 4.23.18

Out-of-work NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick was back in the national headlines this week after he viciously attacked members of law enforcement; accusing police departments of “lawful lynchings” across the US.

According to the Associated Press, Kaepernick was speaking after receiving an award from Amnesty International; which had named the protesting player its annual Ambassador of Conscience.

“Racialized oppression and dehumanization is woven into the very fabric of our nation — the effects of which can be seen in the lawful lynching of black and brown people by the police, and the mass incarceration of black and brown lives in the prison industrial complex,” Kaepernick said.

“How can you stand for the national anthem of a nation that preaches and propagates, ‘freedom and justice for all,’ that is so unjust to so many of the people living there?” he asked.

Colin Kaepernick is widely credited as starting the NFL’s “player protest” demonstrations back in 2016, with athletes choosing to “take a knee” during the performance of the ‘Star-Spangled Banner.’

GAME OVER: Kaepernick SNUBBED by Team After Refusing to STAND

The Seattle Seahawks reportedly gave Colin Kaepernick the boot from pre-season training after the out-of-work quarterback flat-out refused to quit his national anthem protest; adding they were “deciding” whether to offer the athlete a job for the upcoming season.

According to Fox News, the former 49er was contacted by the Seahawks weeks ago about a possible visit to the team’s headquarters for tryouts. Inside sources say the trip was canceled after officials demanded Kaepernick remain standing during the US national anthem

“The team reportedly asked Kaepernick if he would continue his protest if he was signed to the NFL again and he was ‘unwilling to give that assurance to them,’” writes Fox.

Kaepernick made national headlines throughout the 2016 season when he kicked-off the trend of player protests during the ‘Star-Spangled Banner.’

“The NFL should have suspended him for one game and he would have never done it again,” Trump told Sean Hannity last October. “They could have then suspended him for two games and they could have suspended him again if he did it a third time, for the season, and you would never have had a problem.”
