Texas Governor Greg Abbott released his state’s impressive COVID stats this week; confirming March 16 had zero virus-related fatalities and the lowest infection rate since the pandemic began in March 2020.
The good news is raising new questions about Democrats’ reaction to the Republican plan to re-open the economy, particularly Beto O’Rourke who called the move a “death Warrant for Texans.”
“A death warrant for Texans. Add them to the 44,000+ killed as he failed to confront the pandemic & botched the vaccine rollout. And those who froze to death because he cares more about energy companies’ profits than keeping Texans alive. Abbott is killing the people of Texas,” posted O’Rourke on March 2nd.

CALIFORNIA LOCK-UP: Gavin Newsom Calls Texas Re-Opening ‘Absolutely Reckless’
California Governor Gavin Newsom ripped Texas Governor Greg Abbott’s decision to re-open the state this week, labeling the move “absolutely reckless” despite the administration of millions of vaccines.
“The high vaccination numbers focused on our senior population will continue to reduce hospitalizations. We are able to contain COVID and safely allow Texas to open 100%,” posted Abbott on social media.
ANOTHER new daily record in vaccines administered.
Today Texas reports more than 229,000 in a single day.

BIDEN on TEXAS OPENING: ‘It’s a Mistake, The Last Thing We Need is Neanderthal Thinking’
Joe Biden weighed-in Wednesday on Texas and Mississippi’s decision to re-open their economy 100% and eliminate the mandatory mask mandate; saying “the last thing we need is Neanderthal thinking.”
“Do you have a message for Texas and Mississippi?” asked one reporter.
“I think it’s a big mistake. Look, I hope everybody has realized by now that these masks make a difference. We’re on the cusp of being able to change the nature of this disease because of the way we’re getting vaccines into people’s arms. We’ve moved that up to May,” said Biden.
“The last thing we need is Neanderthal thinking that in the meantime, everything is fine!” he added. “It still matters.”
