A recent study published in scientific journal BioScience says the planet needs fewer people to effectively combat climate change; arguing “population control” is necessary to limit the amount of Carbon Dioxide in the atmosphere.
“A larger group of scientists is sounding another, much more urgent alarm. More than 11,000 experts from around the world are calling for a critical addition to the main strategy of dumping fossil fuels for renewable energy: there needs to be far fewer humans on the planet,” reports Bloomberg.
“We declare, with more than 11,000 scientist signatories from around the world, clearly and unequivocally that planet Earth is facing a climate emergency,” the scientists write.
“The scientists make specific calls for policymakers to quickly implement systemic change to energy, food, and economic policies. But they go one step further, into the politically fraught territory of population control,” adds Bloomberg.
Presidential hopeful Bernie Sanders made similar comments on the campaign trailer earlier this year; suggesting population control and “reproductive rights” were essential tools in the fight against global warming.
“In poor countries around the world where women do not necessarily want to have large numbers of babies, and where they can have the opportunity through birth control to control the number of kids they have, is something I very, very strongly support,” said Sanders.

BACKLASH BUILDS: Bernie BLASTED for Suggesting ‘Population Control’ Needed to Fight Climate Change
Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders is under fire after suggesting the use of “population control” and women’s “reproductive rights” to combat the growing threat of climate change.
Sanders was speaking at a televised CNN town hall event Wednesday when he was asked if “population control” was needed to reduce carbon emissions across the planet.
“In poor countries around the world where women do not necessarily want to have large numbers of babies, and where they can have the opportunity through birth control to control the number of kids they have, is something I very, very strongly support,” said Sanders.
The backlash against Sanders’ comments grew Thursday.
How do you not say unequivocally “NO” to the question of whether you support the idea of “curbing population growth” through abortion to reduce climate change??? Well, watch. This is apparently how. https://t.co/z5G7PCjJRe

‘WE HAVE TO EAT THE BABIES’: Woman at AOC Town Hall Demands We ‘Eat Babies’ to Fight Climate Change
A distraught woman at a town hall event hosted by Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez demanded American’s begin “eating babies” to combat climate change; warning we have just a “few months left” to fight global warming.
“We’re not going to be here for much longer, because of the climate crisis,” the woman pleaded. “We only have a few months left. I love that you support the Green Deal, but it’s not gonna get rid of fossil fuel. It’s not going to solve the problem fast enough. A Swedish professor said we can eat dead people, but it’s not fast enough! So, I think your next campaign slogan needs to be this: We’ve got to start eating babies.”
“All of you!” she screamed. “You’re a pollutant! Too much Co2. We have to start now. Please — you are so great. I’m so happy that you are supporting a Green New Deal, but it’s not enough. Even if we were to bomb Russia, it’s not enough. There’s too many people, too much pollution. So, we have to get rid of the babies. That’s a big problem. Just stopping having babies just isn’t enough. We need to eat the babies. This is very serious. Please give a response.”
It’s unclear of the woman was an actual climate activist, suffered from mental illness, or was mocking extreme claims made by the far-left lawmaker.
“Hey everyone! We had a fabulous town hall tonight & I’ll be highlighting some moments from it. At one point I was concerned there was a woman in crisis & want to ensure we treat the situation compassionately. Let’s not mock or make a spectacle. &let’s work on Medicare for All!” posted AOC on social media.
