Good news for the former president…
According to a recent CNN poll, former President and 2024 GOP frontrunner is comfortably ahead of GOP opponent Nikki Haley and pulling farther away from President Biden in a hypothetical rematch.
Forty-nine percent of registered voters in the CNN poll, conducted by SSRS, said they would be “more likely to vote” for Trump, while 45 percent said they would be “more likely to vote” for Biden.
From The Hill:
In the same poll, 38 percent of respondents said they approve of “the way” Biden is “handling his job,” while 62 percent said they disapprove. Thirty-four percent also said the president “deserves to be” reelected, while 66 percent disagree.
Despite Trump’s lead in the poll among registered voters, 38 percent said they had a favorable opinion of the former president. Fifty-seven percent of registered voters said they have an unfavorable opinion of him.
Additionally, 70% of Republicans and Republican-leaning independents say they would most like to see Trump win the Republican nomination for president, compared to 19% who say they favor Nikki Haley.
Eight percent said someone else.
The CNN/SSRS poll was conducted Jan. 25-30 with 1,212 respondents and a margin of sampling error of 3.4 percentage points. There were 983 respondents labeled as registered voters in the poll, with a sampling error of 3.8 percentage points for results among them.
