New York Congresswoman Elise Stefanik was officially selected to replace Liz Cheney as the GOP Conference Chair Friday morning; ending weeks of speculation over whether the party would switch the pivotal position moving into the 2022 election cycle.
“I know we are all here to serve the people, the voters who place their trust and faith in us. You have put yours in me to serve this Conference and I will never lose sight of that. I will always work my very hardest to earn your trust every day,” Stefanik said.
“This will not be an easy job, but I know we are stronger when united as a team,” she added.
“At my home in upstate New York, my husband and I live just a few miles from the Saratoga National Battlefield where 244 years ago, the founding of the ‘Great American Experiment’ was in grave danger, hanging on by a thread as the prospects looked grim for those early patriots seeking to found a new country based on the ideals of liberty, freedom, and a limited government of the people, for the people, by the people,” she continued. “Great Britain looked to finish off the war once and for all, but the American patriots were disciplined and steadfast in carrying out their mission. They were comprised of brave patriots from across the colonies, each one bringing a different skill set and attribute to the larger team.”

BREAKING: Trump Endorses Rep. Elise Stefanik for GOP Conference Chair, Rips ‘Warmongering’ Liz Cheney
Former President Donald Trump endorsed New York Congresswoman Elise Stefanik for GOP Conference Chair Wednesday; blasting current leader Liz Cheney as a “warmongering fool.”
“Liz Cheney is a warmongering fool who has no business in Republican Party Leadership. We want leaders who believe in the Make America Great Again movement, and prioritize the values of America First. Elise Stefanik is a far superior choice, and she has my COMPLETE and TOTAL endorsement for GOP Conference Chair. Elise is a tough and smart communicator!” posted Trump on his new website.
The President also commented on Facebook’s decision to keep the 45th President of the United States off its platform.
“What Facebook, Twitter, and Google have done is a total disgrace and an embarrassment to our Country. Free Speech has been taken away from the President of the United States because the Radical Left Lunatics are afraid of the truth, but the truth will come out anyway, bigger and stronger than ever before. The People of our Country will not stand for it! These corrupt social media companies must pay a political price, and must never again be allowed to destroy and decimate our Electoral Process,” wrote Trump.

BREAKING: House to Hold First Ever ‘Proxy Vote’ Since Congress First Met in 1789, GOP Sues to Stop
The House of Representatives is poised to hold their first “proxy vote” since the founding of the institution back in 1789, with Republican lawmakers suing to stop the “unconstitutional” maneuver.
“The unprecedented vote is expected to occur later Wednesday in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic after House Democrats passed May 15 a temporary resolution to allow absent members to still cast votes in an effort to stop the spread of the virus and protect public health,” reports Fox News.
“Meantime, House Republicans marked the occasion by filing a lawsuit against Democrats, claiming the proxy voting plan is unconstitutional and argued any vote cast by proxy should never become law,” adds Fox.
“Today is a sad day that we have got to be in the position where we’re bringing suit against the speaker,” Rep. Liz Cheney, R-Wyo., said earlier Wednesday. “We’re bringing suit against the Democrats in order to prevent them from pushing this proxy vote through.”
“The House made its will clear two weeks ago when it voted to implement remote voting by proxy and other necessary measures to ensure that Congress can continue to protect lives and livelihoods,” House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said in a statement. “The House’s position that remote voting by proxy during a pandemic is fully consistent with the Constitution is supported by expert legal analyses.”
