President Trump canceled his scheduled meeting with Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein Thursday; announcing his plan to huddle with the senior DOJ official sometime within “the next week.”
White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders confirmed the postponement as the President returned to Washington after holding high-level international meetings at the United Nations in New York City.
“The President spoke with Rod Rosenstein a few minutes ago and they plan to meet next week,” Press Secretary Sarah Sanders told reporters. “They do not want to do anything to interfere with the hearing.”

DAY OF RECKONING: GOP Lawmakers Introduce Bill to IMPEACH ROD ROSENSTEIN
GOP legislators introduced legislation Thursday night to impeach Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein; claiming Sessions’ second-in-command was stonewalling their investigation into the ongoing Russia probe and defying Congressional subpoenas.
Rep. Mark Meadows confirmed the bill on social media, saying “I just filed a resolution with @Jim_Jordan and several colleagues to impeach Rod Rosenstein. The DOJ has continued to hide information from Congress and repeatedly obstructed oversight–even defying multiple Congressional subpoenas. We have had enough.”

“The impeachment articles come as evidence continues to mount regarding the Department of Justice’s problematic decision making during the 2016 campaign and conduct surrounding the transition to President Trump’s administration in 2017,” the statement read.
“For 9 months we’ve warned them consequences were coming, and for 9 months we’ve heard the same excuses backed up by the same unacceptable conduct. Time is up and the consequences are here. It’s time to find a new Deputy Attorney General who is serious about accountability and transparency,” added the statement.

DAY OF RECKONING: Republicans Ask Rosenstein for Names of ‘EVERYONE’ on Mueller’s Team
At least nine GOP lawmakers asked Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein to hand over the names of “everyone” working on Robert Mueller’s probe Monday, saying they were “disturbed” over the Democrat-packed investigation.
According to Fox News, the Republican legislators demanded the information from Rosenstein just days after the Inspector General report showed widespread bias throughout the DOJ and the FBI both before and after the 2016 race for the White House.
“We know that these biases were shared among multiple people at the FBI and could be easily uncovered by Mr. Mueller with simple vetting,” the letter says. “These individuals should not have been given an opportunity to influence – directly or indirectly – this special counsel investigation.”
“Congress’s constitutional oversight gives us the responsibility to know … whether other members of Mr. Mueller’s team harbor political biases and have conflicts of interest,” the letter concludes. “These investigators endanger our ability to uphold justice.”
