A cartel shootout in northern Mexico left at least 9 Americans dead -including six children- when a motorcade from a Mormon-offshoot community was ambushed in broad daylight.
“At least six children and three women living in a faith-based community of U.S. citizens in Mexico were shot to death Monday in the northern part of the country, and six more children were wounded and one missing after their convoy came under fire during a brazen daylight ambush believed to have been carried out by gunmen affiliated with the cartels,” reports Fox News.
“Relatives said the victims live in the La Mora religious community in northern Mexico, a decades-old settlement in Sonora state founded as part of an offshoot of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints around 70 miles south of Douglas, Arizona. They said the group was attacked while traveling in a convoy of three SUVs. Durazo said the gunmen may have mistaken the SUV convoy for rival gangs,” adds Fox.
According to family members, the cartel kidnapped members of the motorcade following the shootout.

‘El Chapo’ Drug Kingpin Found GUILTY on All Charges by Brooklyn Jury
A grand jury in New York City found Mexican drug cartel kingpin Joaquin ‘El Chapo’ Guzman guilty on all counts; setting the stage for a high-stakes sentencing hearing that could send the international criminal to prison for the rest of his life.
“The panel spent more than five days mulling the drug lord’s fate before convicting him on charges of operating a continuing criminal enterprise, use of firearms and various charges of conspiracy to import and distribute cocaine, heroin and marijuana,” writes the New York Post.
The cartel leader escaped prison twice in Mexico before being sent to the United States to stand trial.
During the 11-week trial jurors were shown shocking photos of crime scenes, drugs, military-grade weapons, and tunnels used by the drug lord during his decades-long career.

CALIFORNIA CHAOS: Trump Tours BORDER WALL, Unloads on 'Sanctuary State' Officials
President Donald Trump touched-down in the ‘Sanctuary State’ of California Tuesday; touring his border wall and meeting with members of law enforcement as the region continues to spiral out of control after months of unprecedented homelessness and a spike in crime.
The President spoke with reporters while inspecting the varying prototypes of his proposed border wall with Mexico; saying California officials were secretly “begging” him to build the barrier.

“The state of California is begging us to build walls in certain areas, they don’t tell you that. We said, ‘No, we won’t do it until we build the whole wall.’ There are certain areas where they’re really wanting us to build a wall,” Trump told the crowd. “People are complaining, because people are pouring in. They don’t talk about that.”
“You have to have see-through, you have to know what’s on the other side of the wall,” he said when asked if he preferred one specific prototype. “If you don’t know what’s on the other side of the wall, you could be two-feet away from a criminal cartel and you won’t even know they’re there.”
