House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy moved Tuesday to introduce new legislation targeting a wave of attacks against Jewish Americans after fighting broke-out between Israel and Hamas earlier this month.
“May is designated as Jewish American Heritage Month, a time to celebrate and recognize our community’s great contributions to the United States. Yet, we are instead witnessing a spike of brutal anti-Semitic harassment and assault across our cities,” said GOP Rep. David Kustoff of Tennessee.
“Now is the time for members of Congress to stand up and show the world that these despicable and hateful attacks have no place in our country,” he continued. “As a proud member of the Jewish community, and one of only two Jewish Republicans in Congress, I urge my colleagues on both sides of the aisle to support and pass this crucial piece of legislation.”
“Amid ongoing conflict in May 2021 between Israel, which is one of the closest allies of the United States, and Hamas, which is a terrorist organization and has been designated by the United States as such since 1997, media reports indicate that there has been a dramatic increase in hate crimes and violence against Jews in the United States.,” states the legislation.
“In its most extreme form, anti-Semitism aims at the physical destruction of the Jewish people, as seen in pogroms, forced conversions and Nazi Germany’s murder of over six million Jews,” the bill states. “Anti-Semitism has included attacks on the livelihood of Jews including prohibitions on land ownership, campaigns to boycott, confiscate or destroy Jewish businesses, and denial of the ability of Jews to practice certain professions.”

AOC EXPLODES: Ocasio-Cortez Blasts Biden for Saying Israel Can ‘Defend Itself’ from Rocket Attacks
Controversial Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez ripped the Biden administration for stating Israel “has the right to defend itself” Wednesday night, claiming the United States “looks the other way” on human rights violations in the Middle East.
“Blanket statements like these w/ little context or acknowledgement of what precipitated this cycle of violence – namely, the expulsions of Palestinians and attacks on Al Aqsa – dehumanize Palestinians & imply the US will look the other way at human rights violations. It’s wrong,” posted AOC on Twitter.

BACKLASH BUILDS: Rep. Tlaib Says Critics Pushing ‘Racist Agenda’ After Her Controversial ‘Holocaust’ Comments
Rep. Rashida Tlaib pushed back against critics Sunday night after the controversial Congresswoman found herself in hot water for saying the Nazi holocaust of European Jews gives her a “calming feeling.”
“Policing my words, twisting & turning them to ignite vile attacks on me will not work. All of you who are trying to silence me will fail miserably. I will never allow you to take my words out of context to push your racist and hateful agenda. The truth will always win,” posted Tlaib on social media.

“There’s always kind of a calming feeling when I think of the tragedy of the Holocaust, that it was my ancestors — Palestinians — who lost their land and some lost their lives, their livelihood, their human dignity, their existence, in many ways, has been wiped out … in the name of trying to create a safe haven for Jews,” said Tlaib during a recent podcast.
