Multiple statues and monuments in Plymouth, Massachusetts were vandalized overnight as the town prepares to celebrate the 400th anniversary of the Pilgrim’s journey to North America aboard the Mayflower.
“The famous rock at the site of their 1620 landing was found with its inscription covered with red graffiti,” reports Fox News. “Also vandalized: a sign celebrating the anniversary, the Pilgrim Maiden statue and the National Monument to the Forefathers, according to town officials. The graffiti included an obscene spray-painted message directed at police.”

NIGHT AT THE MUSEUM: Statue of Teddy Roosevelt Vandalized in NYC Landmark
A statue of ‘Rough Rider’ Theodore Roosevelt on the steps of New York’s famed Museum of Natural History was splattered with “blood” early Friday morning, as the NYPD and tourists scrambled to find the vandal behind the attack.
According to the New York Post, police believe a lone suspect splashed red-paint over the iconic memorial between three and seven a.m. and are currently viewing surveillance video to identity the attacker.
One local man called the vandalism “horrible,” adding, “”There is no cause for doing things like this in this society where everybody is free to express their opinion, but not in this way.”
The statue of Teddy Roosevelt was dedicated in 1939, and depicts the notorious ‘Rough Rider’ flanked by two people; an African and a Native American.
The motive behind the attack remains unknown, but comes as the nation continues to struggle with historical landmarks and statues following a white supremacist rally in Charlottesville, Virginia earlier this year.
OUT OF CONTROL: Brooklyn Synagogue Vandalized, Woman Attacked on Jewish Holiday
A Brooklyn synagogue was vandalized during the Rosh Hashanah holiday this week and a woman was assaulted during the Jewish Holiday; with police officers seeking the public’s help to find the group behind the incident.
“Two separate crimes, both on Rosh Hashana, targeted Jewish people in Brooklyn, according to police. In the first incident, authorities are searching for the young vandals who damaged a synagogue in the middle of the afternoon,” reports ABC New York. “The NYPD says video footage shows two people throwing a milk crate and a metal mailbox at a temple in Williamsburg. They were with at least three other people outside the Throop Avenue synagogue.”
“I am disgusted and enraged by yet another anti-Semitic act of vandalism, the desecration of a synagogue in Williamsburg over Rosh Hashanah, one of the holiest days in the Jewish calendar. It is simply unconscionable,” said Governor Andrew Cuomo.
“I am directing the New York State Police Hate Crimes Task Force to offer assistance to the NYPD as they investigate this disturbing act. This incident unfortunately underscores the need for State Police to increase their patrols around houses of worship during the Jewish high holidays this year,” he added.
