MSNBC’s Steve Kornacki dove into presidential polling on Wednesday after a Super Tuesday that locked the GOP nomination for Donald Trump — and he was shocked to find Biden losing voters to Trump.
“If you’re looking at the primaries and saying there’s all this evidence of Republicans turning on Trump in the fall, you’re not seeing it in the general election polling,” Kornacki says.
Kornacki also reviewed a recent New York Times poll that asked respondents “Who did you vote for in 2020 and are you still with that candidate now?”
97% are still with Trump. Only 85% are still with Biden.
“The reason Trump is leading in these polls right now…they’re picking of Biden voters right now more than Biden is picking off Trump voters.”
