Former Republican Congressman Jason Chaffetz slammed the “Deep State” during a fiery interview Tuesday morning, saying “operatives” were sent to undermine his tenure on the House Oversight Committee.
Chaffetz was speaking with Fox News when he confirmed that “40 agents” attempted to “dig into his past” to “embarrass” him; adding “this is how the Deep State operates.”

“They did it to me personally,” said Chaffetz. “As a member of Congress when I was a chairman of the Oversight Committee, I had the Secret Service, more than 40 agents, delve into my background because they wanted to embarrass me; more than a dozen offices, the IRS.”
“I mean, they sent a spy essentially to just watch what I do,” he added.

DEEP STATE DEPARTMENT: John Kerry BRIEFED on ‘Trump Dossier’ in 2016
Former Secretary of State John Kerry was reportedly briefed on the infamous ‘Trump Dossier’ in the run-up to the 2016 presidential election, raising new and alarming questions over the relationship between former British spy Christopher Steele and the Obama administration as Americans headed to the polls.
According to the Washington Post, John Kerry was the last senior Obama official to review the salacious material in “late 2016,” adding that “It’s not uncommon for private consulting or intelligence reports to be consumed by State Department officials.”
“There’s nothing nefarious about the State Department accepting material from Steele from 2014 to 2016,” writes the Post. “At that time, he was a well-respected former intelligence official from an allied country with deep experience in Russia. Officials couldn’t have known that Steele would become controversial for reporting on Trump, because that hadn’t happened yet.”
The left-leaning newspaper was commenting on a recent report from the Washington Examiner detailing the relationship between Fusion GPS, Christopher Steele, and the Trump Dossier to former President Barack Obama’s State Department.
“They’re also seeking to learn what individual State Department officials did in relation to Steele, and whether there were any contacts between the State Department and the FBI or Justice Department concerning the anti-Trump material,” wrote the Examiner.
DEEP STATE PANIC: Trump Orders FEDS TO RELEASE Strzok Texts, FISA Docs, FBI Data
President Trump ordered the federal government to declassify “key” material related to FISA warrants, DOJ text messages, and Russia intel Monday night; setting the stage for a potential showdown with the Department of Justice.
White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders confirmed the move, saying the Commander-in-Chief instructed the DOJ and the Office of the Director of National Intelligence to release the material “at the request of a number of committees of Congress and for reasons of transparency.”
“The documents to be declassified also include all FBI reports on interviews with Justice Department official Bruce Ohr,” writes Fox News.
The President also ordered the release of 21 pages of material related to FISA warrant applications surrounding his former campaign staffer Carter Page.
