DEBBIE’S DEFENDER: Senator Says Trump Turning US into ‘Banana Republic’ over IT Scandal

Connecticut Senator Chris Murphy slammed President Trump on social media Thursday, bizarrely suggesting the Commander-in-Chief was transforming the US into a ‘Banana Republic’ after Trump called for an investigation into Debbie Wasserman Schultz.

Murphy posted his comments on Twitter just minutes after the President urged the DOJ to not let Debbie Wasserman Schultz and her IT staffer “off the hook” over their widening server scandal, saying “They want to make a ‘plea deal’ to hide what is on their Server. Where is Server? Really bad!”

“Just FYI Republicans, when the United States is a banana republic in 10 years, how do you think you’ll feel about being silent when our President told his DoJ to start arresting his political opponents?” asked the Senator.

The President and Murphy were referring to a recent report that claims Imran Awan was seeking a plea deal with the DOJ regarding the missing server; prompting many to speculate he was willing to “flip” on his former boss.

DEBBIE'S DISASTER: Schultz' Shady IT Staffer to Make a PLEA DEAL with DOJ

Debbie Wasserman Schultz found herself in the hot seat Wednesday after her shady IT staffer who attempted to flee to Pakistan announced his plans to reach a plea deal with American prosecutors, reports Fox News.

Schultz’ IT aide, Imran Awan, rose to national headlines last year after he was arrested at a DC area airport while attempting to flee to Pakistan; raising serious questions over his access to top secret DNC emails and documents surrounding the Florida congresswoman.

“Awan and his wife, Hina Alvi, were charged last summer with bank fraud. They now appear poised to strike a plea deal with the Department of Justice. A plea agreement hearing is set for July 3 before U.S. District Judge Tanya S. Chutkan in Washington,” Fox News reported Wednesday.

“The House Office of Inspector General tracked the Awans network usage and found that a massive amount of data was flowing from the (congressional) networks,” said Rep. Scott Perry, R-Pa. “Over 5,700 logins by the five Awan associates were discovered on a single server within the House.”

Debbie Wasserman Schultz has largely remained silent on the issue, telling a Florida newspaper that she stood by her decision to retain Awan on her payroll for months despite him being barred from access to the US Capitol.

DEBBIE’S DISASTER: Trump Says DOJ Must Not Let Schultz ‘OFF THE HOOK’

posted by Hannity Staff - 6.07.18

President Trump slammed Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz and her shady IT staffer Thursday, saying the Department of Justice shouldn’t let them “get off the hook” by making plea deals surrounding her missing server.

The President unloaded on Schultz and her former aide Imran Awan on social media, calling the scandal the “key to much of the corruption” we see throughout the federal government on a daily basis.

“Our Justice Department must not let Awan & Debbie Wasserman Schultz off the hook. The Democrat I.T. scandal is a key to much of the corruption we see today. They want to make a ‘plea deal’ to hide what is on their Server. Where is Server? Really bad!” Trump tweeted.

The President’s comments come hours after Fox News reported that Awan was seeking a plea deal with the DOJ; sparking speculation he was prepared to “flip” on his former boss regarding the widening scandal.
