Unions representing Big Apple firefighters and Emergency First Responders slammed Mayor Bill De Blasio Wednesday; saying the NYC leader was playing politics by calling for “pay equality” for the Women’s Soccer Team while failing to acknowledge the problem in his own administration.
“While Mayor de Blasio uses this victory parade to grab attention for his presidential run and advocate against pay inequality, the first responders of FDNY EMS are victims of that same inequity,” said a statement from the unions.
“The difference in salaries after five years is tens of thousands of dollars,” the statement added. “The women’s national team deserves equal pay, but so do the hardworking EMTs and paramedics who save lives routinely and who the mayor has ignored.”
De Blasio spoke during New York’s victory parade honoring the US Women’s Soccer Team following their World Cup victory.
“This team has shown an undeniable truth, an inalienable right, the equality of women must be guaranteed in this nation,” de Blasio said.
The mayor was hit with a similar complaint by the NYPD union after the Democratic debate.
“History repeats itself. @BilldeBlasio said he wants to bring cops and community together. Ask any cop on the street what impact his divisive rhetoric has had #DemDebate https://twitter.com/billdeblasio/status/1144068770249531392 …,” posted the official Twitter account of the New York City Police Benevolent Association.
“We’re working hard to get guns off the street @BilldeBlasio. You must have been too busy to go to the last Compsat meeting because SHOOTINGS ARE UP 9.7%. ‘Safest Big City’ in the country doesn’t feel that way to many especially in Brooklyn,” added the PBA.
“The hostile and dangerous environment we now face on the street is a direct result of demonization of cops by de Blasio and other elected officials,” concluded the statement.

DE BLASIO ROCKED: NYPD Police Union TRASHES Bill de Blasio After Democratic Debate
An NYPD police union unloaded on NYC Mayor Bill de Blasio following Wednesday night’s first Democratic debate; saying the Big Apple Boss was “directly” responsible for the “demonization of cops” across the five boroughs.
“History repeats itself. @BilldeBlasio said he wants to bring cops and community together. De Blasio unveiled new NYPD guidelines last week that made it more difficult for police officers to arrest NYC students who commit “low-level crimes.”
“Police will stop arresting or summonsing Big Apple students ‘whenever possible’ for a host of crimes — such as boozing, smoking pot and vandalism — in city schools, as part of a sweeping change to NYPD policy set to be announced Thursday, according to a report,” reports the New York Post.
“Rowdy pupils will also skate on spitting, harassment, trespassing and other ‘low-level offenses’ as long as school administrators can ‘safely’ handle the incidents,” adds the newspaper.
“The welfare of these students should be the city’s top priority,” said Maria Henderson, a spokeswoman for City Council Education Committee Chair Mark Treyger. “We should be focused on supporting them and not punitive disciplinary measures.”

The nation’s largest city is also poised to become the first place in America that provides public funding for abortions.
“Mayor Bill de Blasio and City Council Speaker Corey Johnson, both Democrats, announced a budget agreement Friday, set to be voted on this week, that would allocate $250,000 to the New York Abortion Access Fund, which called it ‘extremely good news’ amid other states passing anti-abortion laws,” reports Fox News.
A third of the woman using the Access Fund come from outside the city.
'WORST MAYOR EVER': Bill De Blasio MOCKED at ‘Green New Deal’ Rally Inside Trump Tower
Big Apple Mayor Bill de Blasio was publicly mocked during a rally inside Trump Tower over the weekend; with countless protesters panning his decision to “ban” future construction of “classic” glass and steel skyscrapers.
“New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio faced a crowd of angry protesters Monday at a raucous rally promoting the city’s Green New Deal inside the lobby of Trump Tower, where the Democrat threatened President Trump’s family company with millions of dollars in fines if his buildings don’t comply with new environmental standards,” reports Fox News.

“Speaking in front of the same escalators where Trump launched his 2016 campaign, de Blasio blasted the president’s rollback of Obama-era environmental policies, his move to pull the United States out of the Paris Climate Agreement and his appointment of climate change skeptics to the Cabinet,” adds the article.
“His buildings are one of the biggest polluters in New York City,” de Blasio said. “Cut your emissions or we’ll cut something you really care about.”
