Texas Sen. Ted Cruz stopped-by ‘Hannity’ Tuesday night to weigh-in on President Trump’s “candid” conversation with Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer; saying the Commander-in-Chief is simply fighting for what the American people want.
“I remember when you did a filibuster and I watched… I watched the president today and I’m thinking this is what people want from their elected officials. To fight for the promises they made. Why don’t we see more of this in the Republican party?” asked Hannity.
“The American people have been frustrated with Washington, frustrated that too many officials don’t follow through on their promises,” said Cruz.
“I watched that whole exchange with Nancy Pelosi and I think the President was terrific. He was standing up and saying we’re going to keep our promises, secure the border, and build the wall… The President is fighting to do what the American people want, which is to secure the border and build the wall,” he added.

President Trump unloaded on House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer Tuesday; blasting the top Democrats for their inability to secure funding for his proposed border wall.
The Commander-in-Chief was hosting a high-stakes discussion with the Democratic leadership at the White House where he vowed to “shut down” the government should they fail to reach an agreement.
"Nancy is in a situation where it's not easy for her to talk right now," Trump says of Pelosi.
"Don't characterize the strength I bring to this meeting," Pelosi fires back.

“If there’s not border security, I won’t take it!” Trump confirmed. “I am proud to shut down the government for border security.”
“I will take the mantle,” he added. “I will be the one to shut it down. And I’m gonna shut it down for border security.”

President Trump gave House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi an education regarding congressional procedures Tuesday; informing the top Democrat that he needs at least ten liberal Senators to vote alongside the GOP to pass immigration reform.
The Commander-in-Chief was speaking alongside Mike Pence, Pelosi, and Chuck Schumer in a heated meeting at the White House; telling the liberal leaders why he needs their support to advance his border wall.

“You have the White House, you have the Senate… you have the votes. You should pass it now,” said Pelosi.
“No, we don’t have the votes Nancy because in the Senate we need 60 votes. I can’t get it passed in the House if it’s not going to pass in the Senate. I don’t want to waste time,” said Trump.
