Cruz has been to 14 State of the Union addresses — he knows what he’s talking about.

Texas Senator Ted Cruz stopped by Hannity to give his reaction to President Trump’s State of the Union address. Cruz’s take? Trump hit on all the right wins — and Democrats looked downright terrible.

“President Trump gave a majestic speech tonight,” Cruz said. “It was bold. It was optimistic. It was forward-looking. And it was a litany of successes … I’ve never seen a year like the last year in terms of the victories that we have won. And the reason President Trump spoke for nearly two hours is that there are so many victories that it defies history. Illegal immigration — illegal border crossings dropping 99% — that’s unprecedented, that’s never happened. The murder rate dropping 20%.”

“How can the Democrats be against secure borders?” Hannity asked.

“The Democrat party has lost its mind,” Cruz said. “At one point, President Trump looked over and said, ‘These people are crazy.'”

“They’re just a party of anger and rage, and they behave like Marxist college students trying to heckle the President,” Cruz added. “I thought the moment when he said, ‘Stand if you agree with this: Your first duty is to protect American citizens and not illegal aliens.’ Democrats sat silent. The campaign ads write themselves. The Democrats are for illegals and not you.”

“They couldn’t even cheer for drug overdoses being down 20% because successes are against their narrative.”
