CRUZ CONTROL: Ted Cruz Says ‘We Will End this Constitutional Circus, This Political Farce’

posted by Hannity Staff - 1.16.20

Sen. Ted Cruz pledged to the American people Thursday that Senate Republicans will “end the political farce” started by House Democrats and ultimately acquit President Trump of any wrongdoing.

“The partisan circus that we’ve seen in the House is over… We will then proceed to have a fair trial, to respect due process. Unlike the House, to give the President the opportunity to defend himself,” said Sen. Cruz.

“The House Articles don’t allege any criminal misconduct whatsoever… We will end this Constitutional circus, this political farce that started in the House. This is the beginning of the end of the abuse of the Constitution,” he added.

BREAKING: GOP Senators Introduce Bill to Change Rules, Allow Impeachment Vote WITHOUT Articles

posted by Hannity Staff - 1.06.20

Republican Senators introduced new legislation Monday that would alter procedural rules and allow lawmakers to vote on Impeachment without the formal Articles; setting the stage for a potential legal showdown with Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi.

“The Constitution gives the Senate sole power to adjudicate articles of impeachment, not the House. If Speaker Pelosi is afraid to try her case, the articles should be dismissed for failure to prosecute and Congress should get back to doing the people’s business,” Sen. Josh Hawley said in a statement.

“Speaker Pelosi and House Democrats have made a mockery of our Constitution and abused impeachment for political gain. Now, they’re undermining the role of the Senate by attempting to dictate the terms of the Senate’s trial,” added Sen. Ted Cruz in a statement.

The new regulations would give the House 25 days to transmit the Articles of Impeachment to the Senate. After that period -should Congressional legislators fail to send the documents- Senators would vote to dismiss the Impeachment with a simple majority vote.

CRUZ ON FIRE: Ted Cruz SLAMS NY Times' Kavanaugh Hit-Piece, Says Paper has ‘Political Agenda’

posted by Hannity Staff - 9.16.19

Texas Sen. Ted Cruz unloaded on the New York Times Monday after the newspaper published a botched hit-piece on Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh; deleting an embarrassing tweet and posting an official correction hours later.

“READ stunning NYT CORRECTION. If a high-school freshman did this on a school paper, he’d get an F. This is an outfit that has won multiple Pulitzers; presumably they know how to be actual journalists. It’s almost as if the reporters, editors, publisher have a political agenda,” posted Cruz on social media.

Chair of the House Judiciary Committee Jerrold Nadler backtracked against the Democratic Party’s recent push to remove Justice Brett Kavanaugh from the Supreme Court Monday; saying lawmakers are simply too busy impeaching President Trump.

“We have our hands full with impeaching the president right now and that’s going to take up our limited resources and time for a while,” said Nadler when asked to comment on Kavanaugh.

“Nadler’s interview comes amid calls from some Senate Democrats and presidential candidates to impeach Kavanaugh after a New York Times story over the weekend reported a new allegation of sexual misconduct against the justice from his time as a student at Yale,” reports Politico.

Prominent Democrats demanded the impeachment of Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh Monday; citing a botched New York Times article that was eventually corrected by the national newspaper after widespread criticism.

“Last year the Kavanaugh nomination was rammed through the Senate without a thorough examination of the allegations against him. Confirmation is not exoneration, and these newest revelations are disturbing. Like the man who appointed him, Kavanaugh should be impeached,” posted Warren on social media.

“Brett Kavanaugh was put on the Court through a sham process and his place on the Court is an insult to the pursuit of truth and justice. He must be impeached. Sign our petition if you agree,” added Harris.

“This was almost a year ago. It is unsurprising that Kavanaugh, credibly accused of sexual assault, would lie under oath to secure a Supreme Court seat. Because sexual assault isn’t a crime of passion – it’s about the abuse of power. He must be impeached,” wrote Ocasio-Cortez.

The New York Times found itself in hot-water over the weekend after publishing an explosive “bombshell” on Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh; posting sections of a new book that contained unfounded allegations of sexual abuse during his time in college.

“The New York Times suddenly made a major revision to a supposed bombshell piece late Sunday concerning a resurfaced allegation of sexual assault by Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh — hours after virtually all 2020 Democratic presidential candidates had cited the original article as a reason to impeach Kavanaugh,” reports Fox News.

“The update included the significant detail that several friends of the alleged victim said she did not recall the purported sexual assault in question at all. The Times also stated for the first time that the alleged victim refused to be interviewed, and has made no comment about the episode,” adds Fox.
