Firebrand Senator and potential presidential candidate Cory Booker said he’s actively weighing a run against Donald Trump in 2020 this week; confirming he will “absolutely consider” the prospect of a nationwide bid for the Oval Office.
Booker was speaking with Yahoo News when he was asked about his political future following the 2018 midterm elections, saying “I’ll consider that.”
“I’ll consider that,” Booker said of his potential showdown with President Trump. “I’m focused right now on my reelection, but is it something I’ll consider? Absolutely. Now is not the time to do that, we’ve got elections in the field, I’ve got a lot of work to do. I’ve just come off an election. I will do my best over the coming months.”

“We say an oath that we are a nation of liberty and justice for all, but that’s just words… How are we living our civic gospel that demands for us to reject the normalcy of injustice?” asked Booker.
“I’m a big believer that if this country hasn’t broken your heart then you don’t love her enough. There are things that are savagely wrong in this country,” he added.
