CORTEZ SPEAKS: Ocasio-Cortez Responds to $1 MILLION FEC Complaint Against Her Campaign

posted by Hannity Staff - 3.05.19

Embattled Democratic Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez addressed a recent complaint lodged against her campaign Tuesday; saying “there is no violation” after accusations swirled that a senior staffer “funneled” $1 million in donations to his “private accounts.”

“There is no violation,” Cortez told Fox News as she arrived in Washington, DC.

“No, No,” she insisted.

According to the claim, Cortez’ top aide Saikat Chakrabarti “funneled” nearly $1 million of campaign donations to organizations that he also controlled.

“We were doing something totally new, which meant a new setup. So, we were transparent about it from the start,” said Chakrabarti on social media.

AOC VS FEC: GOP Group Files Election Complaint Against Cortez Campaign

posted by Hannity Staff - 2.27.19

A Republican-backed organization filed a last-minute complaint with the Federal Election Commission Wednesday; accusing the Ocasio-Cortez campaign of violating rules by “funneling” thousands of dollars to her boyfriend.

“Members of the Washington, D.C.-based Coolidge Reagan Foundation allege in their complaint that when the Brand New Congress PAC (BNC) — a political arm of Brand New Congress LLC, a company that was hired by Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., to run and support her campaign — paid Roberts for marketing services, it potentially ran afoul of campaign finance law,” reports Fox News.

“It’s not illegal for [Ocasio-Cortez] to pay her boyfriend, but it appears that they created some sort of scheme to avoid claiming the money [as a campaign expense],” said one D.C.-based attorney who launched the complaint. “What exactly did he do for that money?”

NEW DEAL DISASTER: WaPo SLAMS ‘Green New Deal’ as Ineffective, Unfocused, Unachievable

posted by Hannity Staff - 2.25.19

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’ ‘Green New Deal’ continued to come under fire this week, with the left-leaning Washington Post slamming the program as ineffective, unfocused, and unachievable.

“We believe such a plan can be efficient, effective, focused and achievable,” said the Post’s Editorial Board Sunday. “The Green New Deal proposed by congressional Democrats does not meet that test.”

“It’s also true that good intentions are not sufficient. There are a lot of bad ideas out there,” added the newspaper. “The Green New Deal that some Democrats have embraced is case in point.”

“Good intentions will not solve the global warming crisis. Massive social reform will not protect the climate. Marshaling every dollar to its highest benefit is the strongest plan. Our Green New Deal would do that,” concluded the board.
