COLD WAR 2: US, UK Discuss ‘DISMANTLING’ Kremlin Spy Rings Across the Globe

posted by Hannity Staff - 3.28.18

President Trump and British Prime Minister Theresa May held high-level discussions in recent days to discuss methods the two allies can use to help “dismantle” Russian-backed spy-rings across the globe; sending a clear message to Vladimir Putin after his government brutally poisoned a former spy on British soil.

According to the Washington Examiner, Trump and May “agreed on the importance of dismantling Russia’s spy networks in the United Kingdom and the United States to curtail Russian clandestine activities and prevent future chemical weapons attacks on either country’s soil.”

The statement comes hours after The Trump administration deported over 60 Russian diplomats and shuttered a consulate in Seattle in a direct response to the poison plot.

Russia’s Ambassador to the United States slammed the White House’s decision to expel the foreign agents, saying the US had committed a “grave mistake” and would be met with an appropriate retaliation in the coming days.

The Kremlin-backed diplomats have just seven days to leave the United States and return to Russia.

COLD WAR 2: Putin Unveils ‘INVINCIBLE’ Missile, Says US ‘FAILED’ to Contain Russia

Russian President Vladimir Putin raised eyebrows throughout Washington Thursday, unveiling a new intercontinental ballistic missile he referred to as “invincible” and saying the United States “failed to contain” Russia’s military expansion and global ambitions.

Putin was speaking at his annual ‘State of the Nation’ speech when he pulled back the curtain on his new missile arsenal, claiming the “hypersonic” weapon can’t be intercepted by US defenses.

“I want to tell all those who have fueled the arms race over the last 15 years, sought to win unilateral advantages over Russia, introduced unlawful sanctions aimed to contain our country’s development: all what you wanted to impede with your policies have already happened,” he said. “You have failed to contain Russia.”

Putin went on to directly threaten the US and European powers, adding that any “nuclear attack” on a Russian ally would be treated as a direct assault on Russia itself; a likely reference to the ongoing Syrian civil war.

“We would consider any use of nuclear weapons against Russia or its allies to be a nuclear attack on our country. The response would be immediate,” he added.

COLD WAR 2: Russian Jets, US Fighters FACE OFF Over Syria

Two US fighter jets scrambled over Syrian airspace on Thursday, chasing down a pair of Russian attack aircraft after Putin’s Air Force violated an international agreement and entered US-controlled territory.

During the altercation, the American fighters fired “flares” towards the intruding jets, in a gesture known as “head butting,” a defensive maneuver to alert enemy aircraft of your presence and willingness to engage.

“U.S. military officials raised concerns about the incident through an established hotline established in the past two years between American and Russian air forces,” reports Fox News. “In recent months, Russian jets have increasingly flown in restricted areas in eastern Syria, violating long established agreements with the U.S.-led coalition.”

The United States and Russia find themselves on opposite sides of the nearly seven-year long civil war that has ravaged Syria and the Middle East, with Washington backing Syrian-rebels and Moscow supporting the regime of Bashar al-Assad.

While the two countries support different factions, they have pledged mutual cooperation to help defeat ISIS and other terror organizations operating in the region.
