CAUGHT RED HANDED: NY Times Changes Trump Headline After Pressure from AOC, Top Democrats

posted by Hannity Staff - 6.02.20

The New York Times abruptly changed a front-page headline regarding the nationwide anti-police protests after multiple complaints from top Democrats including Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.

The original headline read, “As Chaos Spreads, Trump Vows to ‘End It Now’”.

“You’ve got to be kidding me,” Ocasio-Cortez responded on Twitter.

“The New York Times headline writers are going to Both Sides the country to death,” Sen. Brian Schatz (D-Hawaii) posted.

“The President is acting like a budding dictator. Headline fail, @nytimes,” Julian Castro tweeted.

The New York Times ultimately caved to the pressure, changing the title to “Trump Threatens to Send Troops into States.”

BACKLASH: NYPD Union Blasts De Blasio, Says Mayor’s Daughter an ‘Object-Throwing Rioting Anarchist’

posted by Hannity Staff - 6.01.20

The NYPD Sergeants Benevolent Association ripped New York Mayor Bill de Blasio in a now-deleted tweet Monday; calling his daughter an “object throwing rioting anarchist” after learning of her arrest late Saturday night.

“How can the NYPD protect the city of NY from rioting anarchist when the Mayors object throwing daughter is one of them. Now we know why he is forbidding Mounted units to be mobilized and keeping the NYPD from doing their jobs,” read the SBA tweet.

Bill de Blasio said he was “proud” of his daughter after the 25-year-old was reportedly arrested in Manhattan for blocking traffic during citywide protests in the aftermath of the death of George Floyd.

“We asked her to recount the whole story. I love my daughter deeply, I honor her. She only wants to do good in the world. She believes a lot of change is needed. I’m proud of her that she cares so much that she’s willing to go out there and do something about it,” said de Blasio.

“She was acting peacefully. She believes that everything she did was in the spirit of respectful protest… I’ll let her speak for herself, but I admire that she was out there trying to change something that she thought was unjust,” he added.
