ABC News faced a growing backlash on social media Wednesday after some viewers noticed the network selectively edited-out a section of an interview with Barack Obama where he strongly criticized the concept of ‘Open Borders.’
“Immigration is tough. It always has been because, on the one hand, I think we are naturally a people that wants to help others. And we see tragedy and hardship and families that are desperately trying to get here so that their kids are safe, and they’re in some cases fleeing violence or catastrophe,” Obama told co-host Robin Roberts in the excluded portion on Tuesday.
“At the same time, we’re a nation state. We have borders. The idea that we can just have open borders is something that … as a practical matter, is unsustainable,” he added.

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis filed a lawsuit against the Biden Administration Tuesday over its “destructive and illegal” immigration policies; claiming the White House is putting “ideology” over the rights of residents in the Sunshine State.
“I think this is intentional, I think this is ideological,” DeSantis said. “They want a massive illegal migration into this country.”

“It’s very clear the open borders is the Biden Administration policy. They want a massive, illegal migration into this country,” DeSantis said. “They are farming out people all across communities across the United States, including here in Florida.”
“This is absolutely a crisis. It’s a crisis of the administration’s own making,” DeSantis said. “This continued release of folks on a very mass scale and unprecedented scale will saddle states and local governments with health, financial, economic, and public safety costs.”
“The numbers speak for themselves. The number of encounters at the southwest border has skyrocketed from 78000 in January to over 210,000 in July. That’s a 171% increase. That’s the highest monthly total in more than 20 years and there’s no sign of it slowing down,” he said. “You have another 208,000 in August, and that was again close to another record. Additionally the number of illegal aliens who were issued a notice to appear in court and subsequently released by the border patrol, which means they’re not actually going to appear, in July alone was a staggering 60,607.”

A similar report from the Associated Press claims thousands of Haitian migrants camped along the US-Mexico border in Del Rio, Texas are being released into the United States on a “very large scale.”
The administration originally told the press the refugees would be sent back to their home country earlier this week.
“Many Haitian migrants camped in a small Texas border town are being released in the United States, two U.S. officials said, undercutting the Biden administration’s public statements that the thousands in the camp faced immediate expulsion,” reports the Associated Press.

“Many have been released with notices to appear at an immigration office within 60 days, an outcome that requires less processing time from Border Patrol agents than ordering an appearance in immigration court and points to the speed at which authorities are moving, the official said,” adds the AP.

BIDEN’S BORDER: DHS Boss Confirms 12,400 Haitians Released into the USA This Month
Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas told Fox News Sunday at least 12,000 Haitian migrants have been released into the United States after entering the country near Del Rio, Texas.
“Approximately, I think it’s about 10,000 or so, 12,000,” Mayorkas responded when asked how many are being admitted into the US.
“It could be even higher. The number that are returned could be even higher. What we do is we follow the law as Congress has passed it,” Mayorkas said.
“Those who are in ICE custody are tested, isolated, and quarantined. Those who are expelled under the Title 42 Public Health Authority are returned immediately. They are not placed in immigration court proceedings, and those we do not test, because they are returned immediately,” Mayorkas said.
“We have enforcement guidelines in place that provide the individuals who are recent border crossers who do not show up for their hearings are enforcement priorities and will be removed,” Mayorkas added.
“It is the policy of this administration: we do not agree with the building of the wall,” the DHS Chief said. “The law provides that individuals can make a claim for humanitarian relief. That is actually one of our proudest traditions.”
