Could we see a red California? Trump did very well there…
While former Veep Kamala Harris defeated Donald Trump 58.5% to 38% in the Golden State, she did much worse than Joe Biden did in 2020: She lost vote share in all but one of the state’s 58 counties, and she lost at least 10 percentage points of the vote in 43 counties.
Not great.
Now, a new poll is showing that 48% of Californians are open to going red. GOP associate delegate Elizabeth Barcohana spoke with Fox News’ Trace Gallagher about the poll.
“This poll was a bombshell when it came out,” Barcohana said. “Right now, Democrat approval rating is in the toilet and the Democrats are on the wrong side of every 70/30 issue. They have not created a single job; they won’t fund Prop 36, which California voters passed with 70% of the vote; homelessness is worse; our utilities and gas are more expensive; and males in female sports, they voted it down in the legislature.”
According to The Washington Examiner, “Since Democrat Gavin Newsom became governor, Republicans have gained more than one million registered voters in California. The latest updates show that Republicans gained 125,000 voters over Democrats in the last few months alone… this marks the sixth consecutive time the California GOP has increased its share of voters. ”
“It really shows a big shift … even in the deep blue areas,” Barcohana said. “Californians want to see normalcy restored to the state of California, and it’s clear they see that path may run through the Republican Party.”
