The migrant caravan slowly making its way towards the United States’ southern border with Mexico has reportedly “stalled” in recent days; with humanitarian workers saying the immigrants are abandoning the group due to dangerous conditions and “low morale.”
According to Fox News, the caravan is now estimated at 4,000 undocumented workers from a possible high of 14,000 just weeks ago. The migrants are still approximately 1,000 miles away from the US-Mexico border.
“That caravan is estimated to contain 4,000 people — but the number is slowly shrinking as weary travelers drop out or apply for protected status in Mexico, spurring the caravan’s leaders to make the request for help with transportation to Mexico’s capital,” writes Fox.
“Of the friends that I have been with, all want to go back,” said a 28-year-old mother of three children.
“We are helping our brothers from other countries with food, water, and transportation,” added an aide worker. “It is going to be very little, compared to what they need.”
President Trump is poised to deploy upwards of 5,000 troops to the US-Mexico border to prevent the caravan from illegally entering the United States.

CARAVAN CRISIS: Migrant Caravan Swells to 14,000, Heads Towards USA
The migrant caravan slowly making its way towards the United States’ southern border with Mexico continued to grow in recent days, with local reporters saying the marching immigrants are now estimated at 14,000 individuals.
According to Newsweek, the “caravan” is gradually gaining more members as it makes its way north towards American border crossings in Texas and California.
“In a series of tweets, President Donald Trump has unsuccessfully urged Guatemala, Honduras and El Salvador to halt the migrant caravan, which is believed to have reached more than 14,000 members in southern Mexico,” writes Newsweek.
The President has routinely warned the migrants to return to their home countries in recent days, saying “We are a great Sovereign Nation. We have Strong Borders and will never accept people coming into our Country illegally!”

CARAVAN CRISIS: Trump Considers Executive Order to ‘HALT ENTRY’ for 'Migrant Caravan'
President Trump and his top national security team are considering drastic measures to “halt entry” for thousands of undocumented migrants slowly making their way towards the United States; proposing an executive order that would block “nearly all” Central American asylum seekers.
According to NBC News, “The Trump administration is drafting an executive action that would make it exceedingly difficult for Central Americans seeking asylum to gain entry at the U.S.-Mexico border, according to three sources familiar with the proposed measures.”
“They have been drafted as President Donald Trump and his national security adviser, John Bolton, have grown increasingly frustrated with the number of migrants arriving at the southern border and the Honduran migrant caravan currently making its way to the U.S,” adds the article.
The “migrant caravan” picked up thousands of additional immigrants as they traveled through Central America and into Mexico.
The group is approximately 1,000 miles from the United States and is expected to reach the southern border within weeks.
